In Memory of Evelyn Marie Hicks
Evelyn “Marie” Hicks, daughter of the late Harrison and Bertha Brigman, was born on August 11, 1954 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life on Tuesday August 14, 2018 at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 64.
   
Mrs. Hicks was the Cashier / Sr. Vice President at First Midwest Bank in Dexter for thirty-five years, retiring in 2010.  She was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Bloomfield and a resident of rural Dexter.
   
On June 24, 1972, she was united in marriage to Eddie Hicks in Bernie, Missouri.  Mr. Hicks survives of the home.
   
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Lisa Spratt and husband Aaron of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by one brother, Charles Lee Brigman of St. Mary, Missouri; by four sisters, Dottie Sue Hunt of Harrisburg, Arkansas, Patsy Ruth Stringer of Jackson, Missouri, Nancy Jane Hartle of Millersville, Missouri and Anita Joy Jarrell of Puxico, Missouri; by two grandchildren, Olivia Spratt and Preston Spratt both of Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
     
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Guy Brigman, William Earl Brigman, Gerald David Brigman and Eddie Junior Brigman; and by two sisters, Audrey Jean Brigman and Carla Jo Brigman.
     
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 11:00 A. M. until 2:00 P. M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2:00 P. M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Ronnie Stevens officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter.

In Memory of Ermidean A. Jones
Ermidean A. Jones, daughter of the late Madison Jones and Oma McAllister Jones was born on February 11, 1931 in Salem, Missouri and departed this life on August 13, 2018 at the SoutheastHealth of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 87 years.
   
Ms. Jones was a Cosmetologist in Phoenix, Arizona and St. Louis, Missouri.
   
She is survived by; one sister, June Laramore of Potosi, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; one brother, Buford Jones and three sisters, Beulah Shipman, Edith Shipman and Lorene Hudgins.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Dortha Mae Nix
Dortha Mae Nix, daughter of the late Ernest Lee Callahan and Sadie Tennessee Gamblin Callahan, was born in Freemont, Missouri on January 23, 1938 and departed this life at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County, Dexter, Missouri on August 7, 2018 at the age of 80.

Mrs. Nix had been a homemaker and a member of Okeena Assembly in Holcomb, Missouri.  She was a resident of Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Jimmy Ray Nix in Wagoner, Oklahoma on August 14, 1982.  Mr. Nix preceded his wife in death on July 29, 2017.

Survivors include, Jerry Nichols of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Leroy Nichols of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; by three daughters, Ava Swimmer of Gore, Oklahoma, Marsha Thurston of Bernie, Missouri and Sharon Carpenter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; by two brothers, Leroy Callahan of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Bobby Ray Reeves of Gillespie, Illinois; by four sisters, Joann Walker of Campbell, Missouri, Clantha Lawson of Jenks, Oklahoma, Deni Harden and Joyce Cobb both of Muskogee, Oklahoma; by fourteen Grandchildren and Twenty Seven Great-Grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by one son, Gary Nichols; by one daughter, Tracey Wamego; by two brothers, Dale Callahan and Lee French; by one sister, Kay Page.

Visitation was at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.   

Funeral services were conducted at 12:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie, with Rev. Tim Russell officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.   Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home.

In Memory of Patricia Faye Freed
Patricia Faye Freed of Dexter, daughter of the late Clarence Rufus and Nora Lee Gribble Powell, was born on September 29, 1963, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and passed away at her home in Dexter, Missouri on August 11, 2018, at the age of 54 years, 10 months and 13 days.

She had lived in Dudley and Wappapello before moving to Dexter seven years ago. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed being outdoors.

In November of 1980, she married Richard "Rick" Freed.

Surviving are her husband, Rick Freed of Dexter; one son, Eric Freed of Sikeston; one daughter & husband, Lacey & James White of Wappapello; three grandchildren, Lucas Freed of Sikeston, Chad & Adalyn White both of Wappapello; four sisters, MaryJo Stearns of Michigan, Norma Smith of Arkansas, Barbara Case of Dexter, Angela Mays of Dexter; and one brother, Willie Powell of Puxico. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Cantrell, three sisters, Lottie Maddox, Treva Lee and Jonnie Maddox

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 14, 2018, after 12:00 p.m. until time of memorial services at 3:00 p.m. with Junior Smith of Darnell, Arkansas officiating.

Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Harold Butch Grasham
Harold "Butch" Grasham of Truesdale, Missouri, son of the late Raymond and Imogene Truell Grasham, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 11,1961 and passed away on August 2, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, Missouri, at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 22 days.

Mr. Grasham had lived in Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Wappapello, Missouri and Hazelwood before moving to Truesdale. He attended Joshua House Church. He had worked as a tree trimer with Sterling Tree Triming service.

On June 15, 1985, he married Barbara Carver in Wappapello, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife Barbara Grasham of Truesdale, Missouri; one sister, Mary Ann Mathis of Portageville, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Friends may call on Saturday, August 4, 2018, after 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri until time of services at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery near McGee, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
