In Memory of Crystal Lynn Carter Thomas
Crystal Lynn Carter Thomas, daughter of Judy Smiley Carter and the late Sherman Carter, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on December 2, 1979 and departed this life at her residence in Bernie, Missouri on January 4, 2017 at the age of 38.

Ms. Thomas was a waitress and a resident of Rural Bernie, Missouri.

Survivors include her mother, Judy Carter of Bernie, Missouri; by three sons, Javin Thomas of Bernie, Missouri, Jadin Thomas and Jace Thomas both of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by one brother, Bryan Carter of Harviell, Missouri; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her father, Sherman Carter, by one brother, Darrin Carter; by one sister, Tracie Carter Young.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.  Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie at 1:00 P.M.   Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Sam Latkovich
Sam Latkovich, 90, of Dexter, MO, passed away on December 31, 2017 in Dexter, MO.

Visitation and memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church at a later date.

Sam was born in Baden, MO to Stojan and Jeka Latkovich on July 19, 1927. He was a machinist and worked as a building facilities and equipment mechanic for TWA for more than 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and telling fish stories, traveling, helping family and friends, as well as talking and sharing stories.

Sam is survived by his wife, Helen (nee Jenkins) of Dexter, MO, his children; Larry Latkovich (Kay), Kenneth Latkovich (Paula), Jennifer Walsh. Grandchildren: Angela Latkovich, Laura Stokes (Robert), Megan Coffel (Shawn), Katie Walsh, Alexandra Latkovich. Sam had 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mile, Cody, and sister, Eva.

Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1002 Saddle Spur Road, Dexter, Missouri 63841.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Faith Lutheran Church family as well as their loving family and neighbors.

Floy Claudene Hill Charles was born on February 20, 1931 in Appleton, Arkansas to the late Claud Lee Hill & Celia Minnie McGowan Hill.

She departed this life on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 86 years 10 months and 11 days.

Floy Claudene Hill Charles had been an upholster and enjoyed painting. She was a member of the Kimball Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to James Denver Charles on December 25, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1993.

Her survivors include: 2 Daughters: Colleen Charles Newton of Oakville, Missouri and Mary Thea Voelker & husband, Patrick of Marble Hill, Missouri. Son: Jackie Scott Charles & wife, Susan of Gosnell, Arkansas. 7 Grandchildren: Laura Newton Landers of Collierville, Tennessee, Amy Newton Long of Portageville, Emily Newton Farquhar of Melhville, Missouri, David Charles of Bernie, Jackie Charles of Kennett, Jeanie Charles of Atlanta, Georgia and Matthew Grant of Fallon, Nevada. 16 Great-grandchildren & 1 Great-great-grandchild Brother; Jerrel D. Hill of Dexter. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 sisters: Emagine Hill Glass & Mary Hill Morton and 1 brother: Leon Hill. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden from 11 A.M.-1 P.M.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Mr. James Powell officiating.

Interment will be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri.

In Memory of Nancy Maxine Tilley
Nancy Maxine Tilley, daughter of the late Cletis and Roxine Farmer Gaines, was born June 27, 1946, and passed away at her home in Bolivar, Missouri on December 30, 2017, at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 3 days.

Nancy had lived in Bloomfield until moving to Bolivar in 2010. She was a retired beautician and had attended the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.

On June 26, 1966, she was married to Walter Junior Tilley in Idalia, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2012. Nancy was also preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne Gaines and Ray Woods.

Surviving are two sons and spouses, Michael Tilley and Hul-Ling Chan of Bellingham, Washington, David and Kim Tilley of Bolivar, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jaren, Jaeli, Lydia, Sophia and Alex Tilley; three brothers, Richard and Bill Gaines both of Dexter, Ronnie Gaines of Knob Noster, Missouri; and one sister, Shirley Dowdy of Chaffee. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Friends may visit on Friday, January 5, 2018, from 9:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Ronnie Stevens of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterana's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Richard Long
Richard L. Long, Sr. of Eads, Tennessee, son of the late Henry Clifford and Gladys Croft Long, was born in Albertville, Alabama on May 27, 1950, and passed away at his home in Eads, Tennessee on January 1, 2018, at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 5 days.

Richard had lived most of his adult life in the Dexter area. He had worked as a rural mail carrier with the U. S. Postal Service and attended the Dexter Church of Christ.

On June 10, 1972, he was married to Evelyn Faye Sturart in Dexter, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Long of Eads, Tennessee; one son, Richard Long, Jr. of Gadsden, Alabama; one daughter, Denise Adams of Eads, Tennessee; two grandchildren; one sister, Flossie Pack of Albertville, Alabama. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Friends may call on Friday, January 5, 2018, after 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.

Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Childrens' Home, 5515 Walcott Rd, Paragould, AR 72450.
