In Memory of Vadola Martin
Vadola Martin, daughter of the late Richard Overton and Lula Jackson Overton Hodge, was born in McGee on January 30, 1922, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on September 15, 2017, at the age of 95 years, 7 months and 16 days.

She had lived in the Puxico area all of her life. She was a member of the Life Chapel Assembly of God Church in Puxico and was active in the WM's at the church. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed making chicken and dumplings for the church and cooking corndogs & goat meat for the Goat Shack at the Puxico Homecoming.

On January 20, 1942, she was married to Elmer Martin in  Bollinger County. He preceded her in death August 7, 1984. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a loving step-father, Washington Hodge, one daughter, Barbara White, two grandsons Corey & Eric Martin, one great grandson Tyler Doublin; her brothers, Benton, Basil, Bazzlel, Buford, Richard; three sisters, Vernola Overton, Velvadean Hendrix and Ruth George; a step-sister, Lula Potter.

Surviving are seven sons & wives, Ron & Elvena Martin of Dexter, Duane Martin of St. Roberts, Missouri, Gary & Lois Martin of Millersvile, Missouri, Tony & Leslie Martin of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Roger & Robin Martin; &  Randy & Cindy Martin all of Puxico, Missouri; Gordon & Carolyn Martin of Wentzville, Missouri; three daughters & husbands, Gloria & Lonnie Massey of Sedgewickville, Missouri; Priscilla & Larry Hull of Old Appleton; Missouri, Lynetta & Mike Baldwin of St Peters, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be Sunday September 17, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Services will be held Monday, September 18, 2017, at 11:00  a.m. at the Life Chapel Assembly of God Church In Puxico with the Rev. Glenn Epps of Puxico officiating.

Interment will be in the Rock Point Cemetery near Swinton with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of all the arrangements.

In Memory of Amber Nichole Ball
Amber Nichole Ball, daughter of Terry Wheeler and Terry Lynn Phillips was born on January 19, 1993 in Idabel, Oklahoma and departed this life on September 9, 2017 at her residence in Colorado at the age of 24.

She was an employee of McDonald’s and was a homemaker. She was a 2012 graduate of Dexter High School.

Survivors include her parents; two sons, Mason Ball and Connor Ball; two sisters, April DeBerry of Dexter, Missouri and Amanda Meyer of Essex, Missouri.

Friends may call at the Rainey Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.  

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 1:30 PM.

Rainey Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Sherry Lynn Whittlemore
Sherry Lynn Whittemore, daughter of the late Elmer Lewis Atteberry and Vonie Kirby Atteberry was born on May 31, 1958 in Portageville, Missouri and departed this life on September 12, 2017 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 59.

Mrs. Whittemore was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter, Missouri.

Survivors include, her loving partner of 18 years, Larry Carnell; one son, Jeremy Whittemore of Farmington, Missouri; by two daughters, Rebecca Lynn Whittemore and Stacey Ann Buenaventura both of Dexter, Missouri; by two brothers, Elmer Lewis Atteberry of Tucson, Arizona and David Atteberry of Blytheville, Arkansas; by five sisters, Alice Carnell of Hayti, Missouri, Joyce Leonard of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Janet Chidester of Hayti, Missouri, Judy Schmidt of Dexter, Missouri and Barbara Chidester of Benton, Missouri; by thirteen grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Joe Whittemore; by one grandchild, Jacob Whittemore; by two brothers, Kenneth Atteberry and Danny Atteberry.

Friends may call at the Rainey Mathis Funeral Home on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Rainey Mathis Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri.

In Memory of Novella Kingree
Novella Kingree, daughter of the late Charles Phillips and Lissie Cox Phillips was born on June 24, 1923 in Rural Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on September 13, 2017 at Mulberry Manor in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 94.

Mrs. Kingree attended the Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid, Missouri and was a homemaker.

On June 26, 1948, she was united in marriage to Gilbert G. Kingree in Piggott, Arkansas.  Mr. Kingree preceded her in death on January 28, 2000.

Survivors include; two sons, Kenneth Kingree and wife Sandra of Bloomfield, Missouri and Elvin Kingree and wife Jane of Dudley, Missouri; one daughter, Karen Kingree of Springfield, Missouri; by two brothers, Dean Phillips of Advance, Missouri and Charles Phillips of Bloomfield, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Kristie Battles, Laura Becker and husband Brian, Daniel Kingree and wife Anita, Adam Kingree and wife Rebecca; twelve great-grandchildren; by one great-great-grandchild.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Bryon Phillips and Oren Phillips; by one sister, Lorene Kennett.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Payne officiating.  Interment will follow at the Harper Cemetery in Aid, Missouri.

In Memory of Lucille O'Dell
Lucille O’Dell, daughter of the late Johnie M. Baker and Icy V. Farris was born on January 10, 1934 in Pyletown, Missouri and departed this life on September 11, 2017 at the Dexter Living Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 83 years.

Mrs. O’Dell was a former secretary at Save Way Gas in Dexter and homemaker.  She was a member of the Sweet Prospect Church and a resident of Dexter.

On September 12, 1952, she was united in marriage to James O’Dell in Dexter, Missouri.  Mr. O’Dell survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, other survivors include two daughters, Pamela Morgan (Denny) of Dexter and Terri O’Dell of Dexter; also by six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Marlin O’Dell; one brother, Buddy Baker; one sister, Lone Baker; and by one granddaughter, Jackie Sanders.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2017.  

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Sycamore Cemetery.
