Betty Phillips, daughter of the late Justin Magee and Ellen Verba Whitledge Magee was born on January 30, 1929 in East St. Louis, Illinois and departed this life on February 20, 2017 at her residence in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 88 years.

Mrs. Phillips worked at the Bank of Bloomfield under many different names for 43 years and was a resident of Bloomfield.

On November 11, 1954, she was united in marriage to Byron Phillips in Bloomfield, Missouri.  Mr. Phillips preceded her in death on November 9, 2005.

Survives include one daughter, Nancy Jean Phillips of Bloomfield, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Launis of Searcy, Arkansas; by two grandsons, Shaun Eric Phillips and Christopher Jon Phillips; by two great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John Wayne Phillips, one brother Norman Magee, and one sister Juanita Magee Capps.

Graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday February 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Bloomfield Cemetery. 

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
