In Memory of Elma Brown

Elma (Harlan) Brown, 93, departed this life at Southeast Health of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri.  She was the daughter of Marion Franklin and Chloe Ross Harlan.

She was a retired school teacher that taught in Illinois Public Schools and a member of First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri.

On June 4th, 1965, she was united in marriage to James Loren Brown.  Mr. Brown preceded her in death on April 29, 1998.

Survivors are eight nieces, Helen Harlan Martin & Karen Harlan Davis of St. Charles, Missouri, Laquitta Vaughn Herren of Venice, Florida, Brenda Harlan Lowe of McQueeney, Texas, Gerri Harlan Tyler of Redmond, Washington, Jennifer Harlan Bowman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Toni Harlan Hoobler of  Indian River, Michigan, Susan Noyes James of Sikeston, Missouri; four nephews, Ronald Harlan of Birmingham, Alabama, Lorin Vaughn of West Plains, Missouri, Larry Vaughn of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, and Bob Shearon of Harrison, Ohio.  Many other nieces, nephews and friends

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Edmond Harlan, Hollis Harlan, Alvin Harlan, Sonny Harlan, and Oliver Harlan; by four sisters, Thelma (Harlan) Lape, Bertha Vaughn, Mabel Shearon, and Maxine Harlan.

Friends may call at Rainey Mathis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 10:00 AM to Noon. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Noon at Rainey Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg McGhee officiating. 

Interment will follow at Dexter Cemetery.
