Helen “Louise” Elmore Burklow
Louise was born on October 10, 1925 to Estel Poe Elmore and Jessie Lena Hutchison Elmore in Bloomfield, Missouri. She graduated from Bloomfield High School class of 1943 where she was the Homecoming Queen. She departed this life on November 18th 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer at the ET York Hospice Center in Gainesville, Florida. Helen was of the Methodist faith.
Helen always had a contagious smile and words of encouragement for others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Helen was also an avid Saint Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.
She married Oren Burklow on August 28th 1944. They had three children. She was proceeded in death by her husband Oren in January 2000 and her youngest child William in May 2009.
Helen leaves behind her sister Shirley (Avery) Haney of Puxico, Missouri; son Phillip (Susan) Burklow of Lambertville, Michigan; daughter Malea (Paul) Zwick of Gainesville, Florida. Her grandsons Jeffery (Robin) Burklow of Roundlake, Illinois; Bradley Burklow of Missoula, Montana; Garrett Burklow of Austin, Texas; and her great granddaughters Arizona, Maisy, and Liberty Burklow of Roundlake, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM Saturday November 26th at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Chapel with Pastor Alice Fowler. Burial will be in the West Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Bloomfield.
Anson Scott Knoderer departed this life and entered his eternal reward on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Anson was born June 20, 1925 to parents, Zella Vandell Scott Knoderer and Cecil C. Knoderer in Sunbury, Ohio, in the county of Delaware. Anson & Janet Kilbury were united in marriage in Sunbury. Ohio on June 22, 1949.
Anson farmed Ringer Hill Farms, Inc. from 1953 to his retirement in 2003. In 1974, his son, William Knoderer joined him in the family farm operation. Anson received many awards for this commitment to excellent farming and conservation. He received the Regional Tree Farmer of the year for Ringer Hill Farms by the Missouri Tree Farm Committee, was a member of the Stoddard County Soil Water Conservation District and served as Chairman of the Pike Township Road Board. He was also an excellent carpenter and hobby blacksmith, making many beautiful items for family and friends, and an avid fisherman and hunter.
Anson was an active member of the Bell City United Methodist Church.
Anson answered the call to serve his country during WWII. Having joined the Army in 1943 he was sent to Casablanca as an infantryman to serve in the 88th Infantry Division, the “Blue Devils” and was trained for the invasion of Sicily and the Italian peninsula. After the successful allied invasion at Anzio, his company was committed to combat against the Gustav line in the battle for Santa Maria Infante in order to secure the road from Naples to Rome for its subsequent liberation. Having won a battle star for this action, his company was one of first forward elements of the 351st Regiment to enter the Eternal City.
After Rome was secured on June 4, 1944, his Division was committed to the Rome/Arno/North Apennines campaign. The assault of the 88th Infantry Division against the German Gothic Line at Mt. Capello, resulted in Anson's company receiving a Presidential Unit Citation, general order no. 43 War Department 1946 along with his personal award of second battle star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart from wounds sustained September 29, 1944. Other medals and ribbons awarded are as follows: Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman of Rifle, Good Conduct Medal, European/African/Middle Eastern campaign medal, WW2 Victory medal as well as post service recognition by the State of Missouri.
Anson was preceded in death by his parents, Janet,his wife, two sisters, Elizabeth Conant and Elsie Gandt and a niece, Chrystal Conant Blanton. Survivors include: one son, William Knoderer and wife Dawn, of Oran, Mo., two daughters, Elizabeth “Cissy” Williams and husband, Dale, of Oran, and Sarah Moran, and husband Michael, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, nephew, Scott Conant and wife Rebekah and other relatives and friends.
Grandchildren are, Melissa Keller, St. Louis Mo., Matthew Knoderer, Cape Girardeau, Mo., Megan Moran, Deerfield Beach, Fla., Jessica Moran and fiance, Jacob Fischer, Miami, Fla.
Great-Grandchildren are Nicolette and William Knoderer, Cape Girardeau, Mo, Mia Guizani, Deerfield Beach, Florida and Ruby Keller, St Louis, Mo.
There will be a memorial service for Anson, at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 3 at the Bell City United Methodist Church, Bell City, Mo. The family will be there at 9:00 AM if you wish to pay your respects.

The family would like to personally thank the fine staff and volunteers at the Veterans Home. They are amazing people who loved our father, and he loved them. They always treated dad with honor and respect and did their best to allow him to retain his dignity. We thank them.
Bobby Smith, son of the late T.J. Smith and Thelma Smedley Smith was born in Waukegan, Illinois on March 10, 1959 and departed this life at his residence in Wappapello, Missouri on November 16, 2016 at the age of 57.
Mr. Smith had served in the United States Army National Guard, was a Maintenance Man. He was also a Volunteer Fireman & First Responder at Wappapello, Missouri. He attended Faith Baptist Church.
He was united in marriage to Cheryl Ann Burch in Bernie, Missouri on December 2, 1977. Mrs. Smith survives in their home in Wappapello, Missouri.
Other survivors include one son, Bobby Smith Jr. & wife Shanelle of Yelm, Washington; by one daughter, Charity Hope Smith of Houston, Texas; Daughter-in-law Ashley Smith of Yelm,Wa.; by one brother, Vincent Smith and Donna of Houma, Louisiana ; by three sisters, Debi Parrish and Leonard of Essex, Missouri, Kathy Frazier and Dennis of Wappapello, Missouri and Michelle Smith of Houston, Texas; Sister-in-law Laura West and Terry of Doniphan, Mo., Deb Christman and Bill of Wappapello, Mo., and Brother-in-law Bobby Burch and Kerri of Wappapello, Mo.; Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Wilma and Bob Burch of Wappapello, Mo.; by four grandchildren, Madison, Tucker, Hadley and Adilynn; also by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by one son, Joshua Smith; by one brother, Gary Smith; by two sisters, Marilyn Smith and Sherrie Vaughn.
Friends may call at Rainey~Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.
Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Rainey~Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Ronald David Turbett, son of the late Henry Turbett and Emma Boyer Turbett, was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 16, 1943 and departed this life at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky on November 14, 2016 at the age of 73.
Mr. Turbett had served in the United States Navy, later was a Maintenance Main at Sherwin-Williams Paint Factory in Elgin, Illinois. He loved fishing and also loved his animals. He was a resident of Bernie.
He was united in marriage to Judy Kramp in St. Charles, Illinois on January 30, 1982. Mrs. Turbett survives in their home in Bernie.
Other survivors include one son, Mike Turbett of Poplar Grove, Illinois; by three daughters, Susan Dvojack of Chicago, Illinois, Patricia Cobb of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee and Lisa Pfaffinger of Belvidere, Illinois; by three brothers, Richard Turbett of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Hank Turbett of Chicago, Illinois and Larry Turbett of Wilmington, Illinois; by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.
A Memorial service will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie, Missouri, Monday afternoon, November 21, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Andrew B. "Andy" Partenberry was born on January 28, 1959 in Fagus, Missouri to the late Levi Partenberry & Betty Gunter Partenberry. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his residence in Malden, Missouri at the age of 57 years 9 months and 18 days.
Andrew B. "Andy" Partenberry was a farmer.
His survivors include: Fiancé: Anita Albert of the home in Malden. Daughters: Angela Miles & husband, James of Florida, Jessica Whitmore & husband, Clay, Crystal Yarnal & husband, James of Dexter, Angel Crossgrove & husband, Jared of Licking, Missouri, Stephanie Addis of Dexter, Ashley Engel & Amanda Engel both of Michigan. Sons: Andrew Lee Partenberry of Missouri & David Cook & wife, Allison of Louisiana. Step-son: Thomas Albert of Missouri. Step-daughters: Amber Albert of Dexter & Heather Albert of Missouri, Saren Engel of Michigan; Tiffany Partenberry of Poplar Bluff; Sherry Cook Pyatt of Kentucky; Amber Albert of Dexter; & Heather Albert of Missouri. 17 Grandchildren Brother: William Partenberry of Poplar Bluff. Sisters: Sarah Partenberry of Poplar Bluff, Mary Hillis & husband, Billy of Malden, Roberta Partenberry of Malden & Betty Darlene Jones of Poplar Bluff.
