Opal Womack Bondurant

Opal Womack Bondurant, 96 of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening. She was born in Hohenlinden, Mississippi on October 26, 1919 to Byron Minter Womack and Hattie Wofford Womack. She graduated High School in Woodland, Mississippi in 1937.

She worked for David M. Barton Farms for 65 years and was a member of the Parma United Methodist Church for 59 years, serving the church in many capacities. Mrs. Bondurant served on the New Madrid County School Board for 21 years. She was a loving, caring mother and wife as well as a dear friend to many. She was truly a lady with a servant's heart and devoted herself to her family, friends and church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Martin Homer Bondurant, her brothers Tom Foard Womack and Henry Harrison Womack and her sister Jo Minter Dreppard.

She is survived by her sons, Martin (Donna) Bondurant and Scott (Joy) Bondurant, her grandsons Justin (Megan) Bondurant, Brendan (Ruth) Bondurant and Cory Bondurant and by her great grandchildren, Joanna, Luke and Cole as well as her sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service honoring Mrs. Bondurant will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 17th at Missouri State Veteran Cemetery 17357 Stars and Stripes Way Bloomfield, Missouri 63825.

Interment will follow with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of services.

Memorials may be make to the Stoddard County Children's Home, P O Box 164, Dexter, MO  63841.

Timothy Scott Harbin

Timothy Scott Harbin, 50 of Puxico died near Fisk, Missouri.

Mr. Harbin was born February 3, 1966 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

He was a member of the Christian Family Fellowship in Puxico as well as the Labor Union 1104 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Survivors include his mother, Janet Metcalf and his step father Carl Medcalf; one son, Aaron Harbin; one daughter, Austin Harbin both of Puxico; two brothers, Brad Cookson of Puxico and Scott Cookson of Granite City, Illinois and one sister, Becky Siegler of Puxico, Missouri.

Preceding him in death is one sister Marva Cookson and one brother Mark.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 16 at 12 o'clock noon in the Morgan Sifford funeral home Chapel followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM also in the chapel.

Reverend Ray Placher will officiate.

Burial will be in the Duck Creek cemetery near Puxico, Missouri.

Lee Vaughn of Dexter, Missouri, son of the late Arthur Lee & Ruby Edna Maze, was born near Dexter on December 18, 1936, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield Missouri, on June 13, 2016, at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and  26 days.

Lee had lived in Dexter for many years. He has served in the U. S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He had been a farmer and had worked at Chrisman Oil.

Surviving are one son, Jason Vaughn of Dexter; four brothers & wives, Jerry (Devosha) Vaughn, Randy (Rebecca) Vaughn all of Dexter, Ronnie (Neva) Vaughn of Holy Rood, Kansas, Dale (Debbie) Vaughn of Essex; four sisters, Betty Horn of Bloomfield, Rose Champion of Iola, Kansas, Sharon Gaughn & husband Jack of Billings, Montana, and Barbara Davis & husband Jeff of Glen Allen. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Link, three brothers, Bud, Gene and Larry Vaughn.

Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. on Thursday June 16. 2016 at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Daniel Martin of Bloomfield officiating with interment to follow.

Aaron Davison

Aaron Davison, son of the late Thomas J. Davison II and Edna Cummings Davison, was born on July 10, 1922 in Friendship, Tennessee and departed this life on June 11, 2016 in the Hillcrest Care Center in DeSoto, Missouri at the age of 93.

Mr. Davison was a farmer and a former resident of Dexter.

On January 27, 1940 he was united in marriage to Eunice Moran in Caruthersville, Missouri.  Mrs. Davison preceded him in death on February 23, 1983.

Mr. Davison is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy D. Young and husband Don of Hillsboro,;  by nine grandchildren; Sheila Young Poncet of DeSoto, Michael Young of Hillsboro, David Young of DeSoto, Chris Young of Hillsboro, Karen Davison Hindman, Tisha Davison Moore, Jimmy Davison, Aaron Davison and Amanda Davison, all of Dexter; by nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Earl Davison, James Davison, and Roy Davison; by one grandson, Steven Young;  by two brothers, Buddy Davison and Jessie Davison and by one sister, Edna Cronan.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 9:30 A. M. until 11:00 A. M. 

Funeral Services will then be conducted at 11:00 A. M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Tim Russell officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Patricia Kidd-Johnson

Patricia Kidd-Johnson of Essex, daughter of Rocellia Goin Duncan and the late Roscoe Duncan, was born in Sikeston, Missouri on March 10, 1950, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on June 11, 2016, at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 1 day.

Patty had lived in Dexter most of her life and in Essex the past several years. She had worked at Tyson Foods early in life and then became a stay at home mom. She had attended the Dexter Assembly of God Church.

On December 31, 1969, she was married to Billy D. Kidd, Sr. and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2003. On November 16, 2003, she married Cletus "John" Johnson.

Surviving are her husband, Cletus "John" Johnson of Essex; two sons & wife, Billy D., Jr. & Deanna Kidd of Dexter, Michael Kidd of Cape Girardeau; her mother, Rocellia Goin Duncan of St. Charles, Missouri; three grandchildren; three sisters, Yvonne Gibbs of St. Charles, Missouri, Yvette McCurry of Harrison, Arkansas, Shelly Reagan of Virginia. Other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom & Jim Goin

Friends may visit on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, after 11:00 a.m. at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, Missouri with services to follow at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Tim Russell of Dexter will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
