Rachel Davis
Rachel Davis, daughter of the late Orville B. and Rosa Parilee Hollis Brady, was born in Collinwood, Tennessee on March 16, 1929, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico on May 9, 2015, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 23 days.

She had moved to the Puxico area in 1949. She had worked at the IGA and B&C Market, operated a licensed day care for over 35 years, was a member of First Baptist Church in Puxico, the Thursday Culture Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7822.

On May 8, 1948, she was married to James Roy Davis in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2014.

Surviving are one son & wife, Jim & Nikki Davis of Wappapello; one daughter & husband, Carol & Ronnal Clinton of Puxico; three granddaughters and husbands, Rachelle & Travis McGill, Tonna & Eric O'Dell all of Puxico, and Melissa Lam of Wappapello; two great granddaughters, Lydia & Phoebe O'Dell both of Puxico; three brothers, Pat and Grady Brady both of Farmington, Missouri, Billy Brady of Arnold, Missouri; two sisters, Jean Matlock of Fenton, Missouri and Betty Woolsey of Arnold, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Davis; four brothers and six sisters.

Visitation will be held on Monday May 11, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri. Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7822 will conduct services at 7:00 pm during the visitation.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Justin Miller of Puxico officiating.

Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.

Barry L. Baldwin

Barry L. Baldwin, son of the late Eugene L. Baldwin and Mary F. Bennett Baldwin, was born on October 28, 1951 in Stoddard County, Missouri and departed this life on May 5, 2015 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 62.

Mr. Baldwin was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the U.S.S. Oriskany and was a resident of Wappapello, Missouri.

He is survived by two sons, Roberto Baldwin and Barry James Baldwin; and by one daughter, Melissa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George David Baldwin.

Arrangements are being handled by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Eva McKinley

Eva McKinley, daughter of the late Edward Fritts and Velma Kitchens Fritts, was born on January 24, 1926 in Stoddard County, Missouri and departed this life on May 6, 2015 at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell at the age of 89.

Mrs. McKinley was a member of the First Church of God in Dexter.  She was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Ralph Junior Clark on October 1, 1943 in Bloomfield, Missouri.  Mr. Clark preceded her in death on May 20, 1972.  She was then united in marriage to John McKinley on September 7, 1973 in Willow Springs, Missouri.  Mr. McKinley preceded her in death on March 16, 2005.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Clark  and his wife Vianne of Poplar Bluff and Ray Clark and his wife Carol of Eagle Rock, Missouri; by one brother, George Fritts of Baldwin, Missouri; by two sisters, Betty Killian of Poplar Bluff and Delorse Maloney of Campbell; by five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Wilfred Fritts; and by three sisters, Emma Niehaus, Wilma Hampton and Barbara Ann Fritts

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

Irma Sue Williams

Irma Sue Williams, daughter of the late Robert Geiger and Halene Ramsey, was born on April 29, 1947 in Allerton, Illinois and departed this life on May 4, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Dexter at the age of 68.

Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter.

On July 26, 1969, she was united in marriage to Ronald Williams in East St. Louis, Illinois.  Mr. Williams survives of the home.

She is survived by five brothers, Bob Geiger and his wife Katherine of Florida, Bill Geiger and his wife Pat of Kentucky, Hal Geiger and his wife Sue of Illinois, Denny Geiger and his wife Karen of Wisconsin and David Casey and his wife Chris of Sikeston; and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harley Pyles. 

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. 

A memorial service will follow in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 12:00 Noon with Mike Forrister officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Frances Louise Mekan

Frances Louise Mekan, daughter of Mildred Marie Arnold Mekan and the late Lawrence Albert Mekan was born in Powe, Missouri on October 5, 1950 and departed this life in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina on May 1, 2015 at the age of 64.

Ms. Mekan was a homemaker and was a member of Powe Baptist Church of Bernie, Missouri.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred Marie Mekan of Dexter, Missouri; by four brothers, Gene Mekan and Ivan Mekan both of Bernie, Missouri, Tom Mekan of Temple City, California and David Mekan of Winona, Missouri; by two sisters, Violetta Marie Mastiolvich of St. Louis, Missouri and Carolyn Faye Mekan of Temple City, California; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her Father, by one brother, Bill Mekan; by three sisters, Launita Marie McNeal, Margaret Ann Park and Ava June Armes.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 1:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel starting at 2:30 P.M. with Rev. Don Wells officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery. 

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
