Karen Jo Norman, daughter of Benny Jo Jackson and the late Shirley Jean Evans Jackson, was born in Wichita, Kansas on February 7, 1961 and departed this life in Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on March 2, 2015 at the age of 54.
Mrs. Norman was Secretary at Just Rite Cleaners of Malden, Missouri and was a resident of Bernie.
She was united in marriage to Robert Drew “Bobby” Norman in Bernie, Missouri on September 27, 1979. Mr. Norman preceded his wife in death on October 30, 1996.
Survivors include her father, Benny Jackson of Malden, Missouri; by one son, Shane Drew Norman & wife Sidney of Bernie, Missouri; by one brother Mark Wayne Jackson & wife Jan of Campbell, Missouri; by one granddaughter, Sadie Norman; also by other relatives and friends.

Virgie G. Wilson, daughter of the late William W. Asbell and Grace Davis Asbell, was born on December 27, 1926 in Bloomfield, Missouri and passed away on March 4, 2015 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter at the age of 88.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter. She retired as a teacher from the Dexter Public Schools, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a resident of Dexter.
On October 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Elmer Wilson in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Wilson survives of the home.
She is also survived by one son, Lawrence E. Wilson and his wife, Marilyn Denish-Wilson, of Tebetts, Missouri; by one grandson, Christopher E. Wilson and his wife Kristi; and by one great-granddaughter, Samantha Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Lynne Wilson Wariath; by three brothers, Walter W. Asbell, Louis Asbell and Alfred Asbell; and by two sisters, Mary E. Killmer and Ruth Barker.

Earl Joseph Hubenthal, 98, passed away February 24, 2015 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri.
He was born August 3, 1916 in St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph and Marie (Stahl) Hubenthal. Earl married Myrtle Margaret Scott on August 27, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. She preceded him in death on June 1, 2010, after 66 years of marriage.
He worked as a flight instructor teaching primary aviation training for the Army from 1943 to 1971. He was then an Operations Inspector for the FAA in Grand Rapids, Michigan from 1971 to 1984, when he retired. He received The Wright Brothers “Master Pilot” award on October 31, 2006 from the Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration. He was a member of the Mensa Society.
Earl and Myrtle bowled together for many years and received gold medals in mixed doubles in bowling in the 2003 Senior Olympics in Virginia.
Survivors include a son, William L. Hubenthal, Sr. and wife, Rosemary; two grandchildren, William L. Hubenthal, Jr. and Sherri Ann Hubenthal; and one step-grandchild, Laura J. Savorgino; one nephew, Art Jassman, Jr.; and four nieces, Sandy Polster, Ruthie Larson, Mary Elizabeth Massingill and Patty Jassmann.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle; a son, Robert; and his sister, Ruth Jassmann.

Fern Evelyn Smith Kirby, daughter of the late Fred Smith and Ora Mae Triplett Smith Black, was born on September 24, 1927 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on March 1, 2015 at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 87.
Mrs. Kirby attended the Assembly of God Church in Essex. She was a farm-wife and homemaker and a resident of Bloomfield. She had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star since 1948, where she served several times as Worthy Matron. She was the District Deputy Grand Matron in 1981 and the Grand Representative of Ohio in Missouri from 2000 until 2001.
On March 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Jene D. Kirby in Essex, Missouri. Mr. Kirby preceded her in death on June 21, 2010.
She is survived by one son, William Patrick Kirby (Debbie) of Dexter, Missouri; by one daughter, Cynthia Lynn Bowden (Raymond) of North Little Rock, Arkansas; by one daughter-in-law, Judy Kirby of Dexter; by one brother, Richard Black (Ellen) of St. Louis, Missouri; by two sisters, Marilyn Smith (Marvin) of Dexter and Elizabeth Black Sagharichi (Mahmoud) of Poplar Bluff; by three grandchildren, Kay Lynn Davis (Darren), Jene Ann McGill (Mike) and Chris Kirby, all of Dexter; by two great-grandchildren, Jessica Davis and Matney Davis; by one great-great-grandchild, Adyson Davis; and by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she preceded in death by one son, Jene Darrell Kirby; by one brother, Charles Smith; and by her step-father, Charles “Blackie” Black.

Dorothy Cobb, daughter of the late Logan Abbott and Emma Gertrude Matthews Abbott was born on April 21, 1921 in Grayridge, Missouri and departed this life on February 28, 2015 at the Central Gardens Residential Care Facility in Dexter at the age of 93 years.
Mrs. Cobb was a home-maker, member of the Grayridge General Baptist Church, and a resident Grayridge, Missouri.
She was first united in marriage to Claude Adams on August 9, 1938 in Sikeston, Missouri. Mr. Adams preceded her in death. On February 19, 1951 she was united in marriage to Homer Carl “Beck” Maddox in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Maddox preceded her in death on April 17, 1978. Mrs. Cobb was then united in marriage to Wilburn Cobb on August 6, 1982 in Grayridge, Missouri. Mr. Cobb preceded her in death on July 15, 1988.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Edgar Lloyd Adams and Bill Harris; three daughters Shirley Adams Matthews, infant Martha Ann Adams, and Janice Adams Scott; by five brothers, John Wesley Abbott, Jimmy Abbott, Floyd Abbott, Leroy Abbott, and Marion Abbott; three sisters, Fannie Jane Abbott, Eleanor Abbott Coke, and June Abbott Knight; and by one great-great-grandson, Cooper Jernigan.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Linda Matthews Drew, Rhonda Matthews, and Timothy Harris; by six great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
