Leonard Edward Smith, son of the late Clarence Houston Smith, Sr. and Geneva Viola Shelton Smith, was born on March 23, 1950 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on January 14, 2015 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 64.

Mr. Smith worked as a farmer and was a resident of Bernie.

He is survived by one son, Christopher William Smith of Walnut Hill, Illinois; by one daughter, Monica Beck of Essex; by four brothers Clarence Houston Smith, Jr., Jerry Wade Smith, Elmer Milton Smith and
Delmar Shelton Smith, all of Dexter; and by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Smith, and by one grandson in infancy.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 2:00
P. M. at the Bernie Cemetery with Randy DeProw officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home.
