Gilbert David Atchison, son of the late John Gilbert Atchison and Myrtle Louise Ashworth Atchison was born in Lennox, 
Tennessee on March 12, 1936 and departed this life in Crowley Ridge Care Center, Dexter, Missouri on January 1, 2015 at the age of 78.

Mr. Atchison was Foreman at Brown Shoe Company of Bernie, Missouri and was a member of Bernie General Baptist Church. 

He was united in marriage to Evelyn Earline Mott on June 26, 1952.  He later was united in marriage to Alice Cook in June 25, 1987.  Both survive.

Other survivors include two sons, Stanley David Atchison of Clarkton, Missouri and Terry Gene Atchison & wife Angel of Essex, Missouri; by one step-son, Rick Cook & wife Roxanne of Bernie, Missouri; by two daughters, Carol Evelyn Walker & husband Tom and Deborah Ann Johnson & husband Jim  all of Bernie, Missouri; by one step daughter, Sherri Fry & Husband Glen of Rolla, Missouri; by one brother Walter Atchison & Wife Florence of Jackson, Missouri; by eleven Grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Robert Atchison.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie starting at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Chad Cook officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
