Ava June Armes, daughter Mildred Marie Arnold Mekan and the late Lawrence Albert Mekan was born at Powe, Missouri on June 8, 1942 and departed this life in Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri on November 12, 2014 at the age of 72.

Mrs. Armes was a Homemaker and was a member of the Powe Gospel Church of Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Jesse Leroy Armes in Powe, Missouri.  He preceded his wife in death on August 30, 1973.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred Marie Mekan of Dexter, Missouri; one son, Jeffrey W. Armes & wife Melissa of Orlando, Florida; by one daughter Melissa M. Armes of Bernie, Missouri; by one granddaughter, Kennedy Armes; by four brothers, Gene Mekan of Bernie, Missouri, David Mekan of Winona, Missouri, Tom Mekan of Temple City, California and Ivan Mekan of Bernie, Missouri; by three sisters, Violetta Mastilvoch of St. Louis, Missouri, Frances Lobett of Fayettleville, Arkansas and Carolyn Mekan of Temple City, California; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her Father and her Husband, by one brother, Bill Mekan and by two sisters, Launita McNeal and Margaret Parks.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Monday, November 17, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. Until 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 starting at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Don Wells Officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
