Therma Alfreda Reed, daughter of the late Walter Alexander Summers and Allie Belle Davenport Summers, was born on October 19, 1924 in Ardeola, Missouri and departed this life on October 11, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Dexter at the age of 89.

Mrs. Reed was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter.  She was a homemaker, a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and a resident of Dexter, Missouri.

On August 10, 1966, she was united in marriage to Paul Allen Reed in Miami, Oklahoma.  Mr. Reed preceded her in death on July 31, 1981.

She is survived by one son, Mark Alan Reed of Tucson, Arizona; by one daughter, Paula Leigh Striler and husband Bruce of Ballwin, Missouri; by one sister, Wilma Bernice Hyslop of Dexter; by two grandchildren, Eric Alan Striler and Matan Clay Medlock; by one great-grandchild, Dario William Medlock; by one step-daughter, Vicki Jo Proctor McCormick and husband James of Newton, Illinois; and by many relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Pruitt; by two brothers, Luther Ferrell Summers and Albert Carman Summers; and by four sisters, Jewell Lee Summers, Lottie Fern Johnson, Bessie Naomi Dudek and Dorothy Mae Sneed.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October l9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Justin Sponaugle officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
