Darla Kaye Whitehead, daughter of Wayne Waltrip and the late Conetha Vance Waltrip was born in Geneva, Illinois on December 16, 1965 and departed this life in Southeast Missouri Hospital, Cape Girardeau, Missouri on July 23, 2014 at the age of 48.

Ms. Whitehead had been a cook at Bernie Express and was a Bernie Resident.  She was of Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her father, Wayne Waltrip of Bernie, Missouri; by two sons, Daniel Waltrip & wife Lisa of Bernie, Missouri and James Whitehead & wife Julie of Malden, Missouri; by two grandchildren, Eli Waltrip and Luke Waltrip; by three sisters, Tammy Felt of Flint, Michigan, Lisa Crosier of Bertrand, Missouri and Connie Frazier of Sikeston, Missouri.  Also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Conetha Waltrip.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on July 25, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday morning, July 26, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
