Irvin LaVern Williams
Irvin LaVern Williams, son of the late Irvin and Irene Abernathy Williams, was born in Harold, Arkansas on November 5, 1924, and passed away at his home in Sikeston, Missouri on May 13, 2014, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 8 days.

He was a lifelong resident of Southeast Missouri, lived in the Malden area for many years and had lived in Sikeston for several years. He was a prominent farmer in the Malden area, a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden where he had served as Superintendent of the Intermediate Dept and preached when needed at the church.

On July 19, 1976, he was married to Anita Parker in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Anita Parker Williams of Sikeston, Missouri; two daughters & husband, Beverly & Bill Berry of Holiday, Florida, Gina Williams of Tampa, Florida; two sons and wives, Gary & Judy Williams of Port Richey, Florida, Justin & Emily Williams of Sikeston; five grandchildren, Luke Williams, Marla Rainey, Kim Mannion, Ken Williams and Steve Berry; four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one sister, Imogene Russell of Creve Coeur, Missouri. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Billy Berry and two sisters, Virginia and Dorothy Thomason.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014, after 1:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Missouri.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014, at 3:30 P.M. at the Memorial Park Cemtery in Malden with Pastor David Ross of Sikeston, Missouri officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1101 N Main St., Sikeston, MO  63801

Ola Sifford
Ola Sifford, daughter of the late James and Lydia Mason Gidcumb, was born near Bloomfield, Missouri on September 8, 1910, and passed away at her home in Bernie, Missouri on May 14, 2014, at the age of 103 years, 8 months and 6 days.

She had lived in Bernie, Missouri for the last 60 years.  She was of the Baptist Faith.     

On July 1,1934 she was married to John W. Sifford in Dexter, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on August 27, 1950.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, James & Ann Sifford of Yoder, Colorado; one daughter, Ruth Sifford of Bernie, Missouri; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Effie Joseph, Ruth Joseph, Opal Ellsworth, and Velma Green.

Friends may visit on Friday, May 16, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Don Wells of Bernie, Missouri officiating.

Interment with be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Adam Butch Banks


Adam Butch Banks, son of Harold Gordon Bright and Teresa Ann Weathers Bright of Poplar Bluff, was born on August 5, 1982 in Elwood, Indiana and passed away on May 1, 2014 in Poplar Bluff at the age of 31.

Mr. Banks had worked as a carpenter in construction and as a motorcycle mechanic.  He was a resident of Poplar Bluff.

All moms give birth to a child, except Adam’s mom, and she gave birth to a legend.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Daniel Jacob Bright of Poplar Bluff; and by one sister, Teri Ann Bright of Poplar Bluff.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Robert Lay officiating.

Kassey Lee Jones, son of Danny Jones and Alana Wheeler Jennings, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on Febuary 12, 1995, and passed away in Searcey, Arkansas on May 10, 2014, at the age of 19 years, 2 months and 27 days.

He had lived in the Puxico area all of life until moving to Searcey, Arkansas two months ago.  He had attended the Apostolic Church in Puxico, Missouri.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had worked in maintenence at Flowers Fish Farm in Dexter, Missouri.

Surviving are his parents, Danny Jones of Puxico and Alana Jennings of Searcy, Arkansas; two brothers, Daniel Lee Jones of Broseley, Missouri and Matthew Dittman of Puxico, Missouri; three sisters, Alana Lynn Jones of Wappapello, Missouri, Skyler Jones of Puxico, Missouri, and Deedjra Wheeler of Searcy, Arkansas; his grandfather, Ernie Jones of Puxico, Missouri; Special "PA" John Jones of Puxico, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Caleb Jones and Grandmother Linda Crenshaw.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 14, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 15, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Bro. Eric Hampton officiating.

Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.

Ema Evelene Holland
Emma Evelene Holland, daughter of the late William and Pearl Elizabeth Pruitt Hartline, was born near Dexter, Missouri on July 15, 1939, and passed away at her home in Sullivan, Missouri on May 10, 2014, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 24 days.

On June 11, 1955, she was married to A. Jean Holland near Dexter, Missouri.

She spent her childhood in Dexter, Missouri and after she married, she and her husband moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and then to Batesville, Arkansas. They lived in Batesville for over 25 years before moving to Sullivan, Missouri earlier this year.  They were very involved in the community of Batesville.  Emma was employed by the Batesville School District as a kitchen manager at West Elementary School.  She was a member of the Assembly of God Church where her husband was the pastor.  She was an amazing cook, a loving wife and mother, she loved playing softball, and she loved visiting with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, A. Jean Holland of Sullivan, Missouri; one son, Gary Holland of Sullivan, Missouri; three daughters and spouses, Regina and Harry Weaver of California, Connie Musgraves of Houston, Texas, and Eva and Andy Nelson of Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three brothers, John Hartline and Frank Hartline, both of Batesville, Arkansas, and Dale Hartline of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one sister, Helen Harrington of Batesville, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.  Other relatives and friends also survive.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with Bro. Ryan Ryals and Joseph Weaver officiating.

Interment with be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Advance, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
