
Lester Leo James, son of the late Eugene James and Florence Nelson James was born in Parma, Missouri on December 29, 1928 and departed this life at Golden Living Center in Malden, Missouri on April 11, 2014 at the age of 85.
Mr. James had worked for Federal Mogul, Malden, Missouri, had attended Bernie General Baptist Church and was a resident of Bernie.He was united in marriage to Beulah Marie Lunsford in Piggott, Arkansas on March 13, 1950. Mrs. James survives in their home in Bernie.
Other survivors include two sons, Danny James & wife Jayne of Dexter, Missouri and Leroy James & wife Ange of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by three daughters, Beverly Dockins of Bernie, Missouri, Debbie Jones of Jefferson City, Missouri and Allison Williams & husband Stephen Wayne of Bernie, Missouri; by one brother, Leon James of Heber Springs, Arkansas; by 19 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by four brothers, Clarence Edward James, Delmar James, Harold Richardson James, Everett Eugene James; by two sisters, Grace Creasy and Maggie Jines.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie, on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Bill Pennington officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie in charge of arrangements.

She had lived in the Puxico area all her life.
On June 13, 1936, she was married to Truman Wright in Puxico, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1999.
Surviving are, two sons and spouses, Charles & Louise Wright of Florissant, Missouri, and Don & Gayle Wright of Scott City, Missouri; two daughters and spouses, Janice & Don Reinert of Puxico, Missouri, and Faye & Tom Young of Jackson, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Crabb of Park Hills, Missouri; and one sister, Mary Houart of Bloomfield, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Wright.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico, Missouri.

Doris Lavada Haywood, daughter of the late Elton Crawford and Lillian Beatrice Edmundson Haywood, was born on January 5, 1946 in Holcomb, Missouri and passed away on April 8, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 68.
Mrs. Haywood had previously worked as a hairdresser in her own shop, Doris’ Beauty Shop in Kennett, Missouri for thirty-five years, had been a member of Modern Woodmen of America and was a resident of Wappapello, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Doyle R. Haywood in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Mr. Haywood survives at the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Billy Parker and fiancé Holly Noel of Paragould, Arkansas, Allen Haywood and wife Melanie of Rector, Arkansas and Chris Haywood and wife Shannon of Rector, Arkansas; by two daughters, Tammy Jarrett and fiancé Ronnie Riddle of Kennett, Missouri and Mindy Danley and husband Chris of Kennett, Missouri; by Tonya Holmes and husband Billy who was like a daughter to her; by five brothers, Archie D. Crawford of Elkton, Kentucky, Darrell Crawford of Old Ripley, Illinois, David Crawford of Old Ripley, Illinois, Tommy Crawford of Kennett, Missouri, and Sam Crawford of Kennett, Missouri; by thirteen grandchildren, Eric Jarrett and wife Hannah, Heather Estes and husband Mitchell, Hannah Noel, Tori Parker, Colby Noel, Tiffany Jarrett, Michael Jarrett, Will Jarrett, Kaetlyn Danley, Callen Danley, Landen Haywood, Colton Haywood and Denver Book; and by two great-grandchildren, Bentley Estes and Oliver Jarrett.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Franklin Crawford, Kenneth Crawford, Johnny Crawford and James Crawford; and by three sisters, Minnie Roberts, Ethel Lovil Rhamy and Gloanna Moore.
Friends may call at the Abiding Peace Church in Kennett, Missouri on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Abiding Peace Church in Kennett, Missouri on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Duke Hansen presiding.
Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett, Missouri.

She had made her home in Morehouse since 1953.
On December 11, 1956, she was married to Hubert Hill in Holly Springs, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2005.
Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Ted & Marylene Elliott of Sikeston; two daughters and son in law, Alleen & Ed Eakers and Mary Elizabeth McNew both of Morehouse; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Sue Beck of Alabama.
Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, Sonny Elliott and Tommy Edward Elliott; one grandson, Tommy Dean McNew; one sister, Mary Hayes, and one son-in-law, I.B. McNew, Jr.

He had lived in Dexter, Missouri all of his life. He had worked at Purolator and as a carpenter and painter.
On May 25, 1960 he married Carol Ann Cooper in Dexter, Missouri. She survives in the home.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Ann Woodruff of Dexter; one daughter, Deborah Ann Woodruff of Dexter; one son, Thomas Wayne Woodruff of Dexter; six grandchildren and spouses, Casey Lynn & Chad Stall and Sarah Beth & Ian Turner all of Nashville, Tennessee; Bradley Woodruff, Danielle Sanders, Arin Woodruff and Dixie Woodruff, all of Dexter, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Chase Robert Stall and Connor Gene Stall, both of Nashville, Tennessee; and one sister, Pat Baldwin of Essex, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Woodruff and one half brother, Carlton Horn.
