Lorene Brown
Lorene Brown, daughter of the late Norris and Susie Lucille Thrower Temples, was born near Dudley, Missouri on April 12, 1941, and passed away at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on February 13, 2014, at the age of 72 years.

She had grown up in the Dudley area and had lived in Dexter for many years.

Her longtime companion, Bill Gibson, preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law, Pamela McCoy of Dexter, Missouri, Rita & Tim Bleakney of Batesville, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Theresa Wilson of Dexter, Missouri; one granddaughter, Regina Hunsaker of Batesville, Arkansas; two step grandchildren, Tyler and Makenna Wilson both of Dexter; two great grandchildren, Travis and Timothy Walls of Batesville, Arkansas; two sisters, Barbara Taylor of Godfrey, Illinois, Carolyn Sue Sadler of St. Charles, Missouri; three brothers, Bud Temples and Clifford Temples both of Dudley, Gary Temples of Dexter. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. at the People's Full Gospel Church in Dudley with the Rev. James Tipton of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating.

Barbara Wilmoth, daughter of the late Clarence and Imogene Hooks Rieffer, was born in Essex, Missouri, on September 5, 1942 and passed away at her home in Bloomfield, Missouri on February 14, 2014 at the age of 71 years.  She grew up in Essex, Missouri area, before moving to Pontiac, Michigan, in 1962 where she worked for General Motors until her retirement in 1994.  She then moved back to Bloomfield, Missouri.

Surviving is one son Vance Wilmoth, of Lake Orion, Michigan, one brother Henry Rieffer, of Bloomfield, Missouri, and one grandson Vance Jr. of Lake Orion, Michigan.  Other relatives and friends also survive.  Her parents, and one sister Judy George preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Mike Williams of Dexter, Missouri officiating.

Internment will be in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Anna Mae Vaughn
Anna Mae Vaughn, daughter of the late William Eligah and Cordella Isbell Parker, was born in Fairview, Arkansas on April 10, 1919, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on February 12, 2014, at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 2 days.

She had lived in the Parma area since 1925. She attended the Church of God. She enjoyedgardening and visiting with her family. She loved hosting big family gatherings where she provided the food, usually from her garden.

On May 10, 1941, she was married to Willie B. Vaughn in New Madrid County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1975.

Surviving are two daughters and husband, Carolyn Beacham of Clarksburg, Tennessee; Kay and Bill Nance of New Madrid; one son and wife, James and Vicki Vaughn of Dexter; one son-in-law, Wayne Berry of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Angela and Dale Bartholomew of Clarksburg, Tennessee; Mike and Melissa Beacham of Clarksburg Tennessee; Nancy and Jason Moody of Parsons, Tennessee; Steve and Kelly Berry of Poplar Bluff; Tammy and Jerry Jones of Detroit, Michigan; Kristin and Stacy Hughes of Naples, Florida; Brandon and Christy Vaughn of Dexter; Jamie Vaughn of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; Chris Nance of Sikeston; ten great grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Berry; son-in-law, Bob Beacham; and eight brothers, John Corbit, Harvey, Ibra, Fines, Offie Spurlock, Floyd Alfred, Laut James and A. B. Parker.

Friends may visit on Saturday, February 15, 2014, after 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma with Rick Roberts of Essex officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.

Carole Jean West Link, daughter of the late Annette Elizabeth West, was born in Essex, Missouri on April 13, 1941, and passed away at her home near Wappapello, Missouri on February 9, 2014, at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 27 days.

She had lived in DeSoto, Dexter, and Fenton before moving to Wappapello 12 years ago. She and her husband had owned and operated Bob's Auto Glass before their retirement. She attended the Lakeland Assembly of God Church near Wappapello and was a Hamm Radio Operator.

On January 21, 1959, she was married to Robert Link in Bernie, Missouri.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Link of Wappapello; four sons, Robert Link of DeSoto, Missouri, Roger and Royce Link both of Wappapello, Randy Link of Festus, Missouri; one daughter, Cindy Ryan of Puxico; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Freddy Vickery.

Friends may visit on Thursday, February 13, 2014, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Pastor Arvin Haynes of Wappapello, Missouri officiating.

Garry Leon Sides
Garry Leon Sides, son of Wanda Hayes Sides Hill and the late Bobby Kent Sides, was born in Oceanside, California on August 31, 1952, and passed away at the Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri on February 9, 2014, at the age of 61 years, 5 months and 9 days.

He had lived in the Essex and Dexter areas all of his life. He had worked for Mayberry Seed Company as a warehouse manager. Garry was a very active member of the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex. He served his church as a member of the Praise and Worship Team and as a past deacon. He enjoyed playing music.

On September 7, 1973, he was married to Sharon K. Meadows in Essex, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Sides of Essex; his mother, Wanda Sides Hill of Dexter, Missouri, two daughters and son in laws; Jamie Renee & Chris Higgins and Rebecca Leigh & Nathan Rice all of Essex, Missouri; three grandchildren, Elijah and Abigail Higgins of Essex and Joy Rice of Essex; one brother, Dean Sides of Newport Arkansas; and one sister, Sharon Dial of Demopolis, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby K Sides, one brother, LeLand Sides as well as two sisters Pamela Sides and Anita Sides. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, after 12:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Jason Safirt of Dexter officiating and Marlin Durham of Bernie assisting.

Interment will be in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
