Loyce L. Reed

Loyce L. Reed, daughter of the late L. R. “Pat” Patterson and Talitha Ann Aslin Patterson, was born on February 28, 1920 in Dexter and passed away on January 16, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Dexter at the age of 93 years.

Mrs. Reed was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a life long resident of Dexter and had worked as the Director of the Dexter Public Library for 44 years.  She was a member of the Altrusa Club and the American Legion Auxiliary for fifty-four years.

On June 29, 1937, she was united in marriage to James Paul Reed in Piggott, Arkansas.  Mr. Reed preceded her in death on February 17, 1993.

She is survived by two daughters, Paula Kay Smith and husband Jim of Crossville, Tennessee and Jennifer Lyn Miller of Sikeston; by one sister, Virginia Parker Cato of Cape Girardeau; by four grandchildren, Shannon L. Smith Putnam (Denny), Marrianne Smith Bruce (Keith), Jimmy Paul Smith (Tanya) and Michael Reed Miller (Jennifer); by two step-granddaughters, Sheri Smith Marien (Chris) and Lori Smith Powell (Darrin); and by twelve great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Lee Patterson and Loy Riley Patterson, Jr.; and by five sisters, Pauline Hardy, Opal Campbell, Ruth Swindle, Barbara June Mouser and Patsy Patterson.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Elijah Allen officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Harold E. Pete Snider

Harold E. “Pete” Snider, one of thirteen children of the late John T. Snider and Emma Clift Snider, was born on July 24, 1925, near Dexter and departed this life in the Missouri Veterans Home at Cape Girardeau on January 9, 2014, at the age of 88.

Mr. Snider was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter where he was a deacon for many years.  He was a dairy farmer for thirty five years, a Stoddard County Commissioner for ten years, and a volunteer at the Dexter O.A.K.S where he transported meals to the home-bound for nine years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served fifteen months in Europe during World War II as a machine gun platoon sergeant and paratrooper with the 101st Airborne and the 82nd Airborne.

On December 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Georgia Evans at Dexter and three daughters were born of their union.  They were married thirty years.  He was then married to Mabel Walker Bowles on February 6, 1982, at Bernie.

Besides his wife, Mabel, survivors include three daughters and their spouses; Sandy and Bob Hill of Cape Girardeau, Cheryl and Michael Ponder of Benton and Terry Jo and Scott Acre of Portland, Oregon; by one stepdaughter, LeAnn Fryer and her spouse, Kevin, of Lee's Summit; by two stepsons, Todd Bowles of Arkansas and Dean Bowles of Tennessee; by one brother, Dr. Glen Snider of Elijay, Georgia; by one sister, Betty Irvin of Chesterfield; by three granddaughters, Lezlie Fox (Steve) of Springfield, Emily Scifers (Ross Peterson) of Cape Girardeau, and Hannah Acre of Portland, Oregon; by one great-grandson and by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 31, 2014, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Dr. Steve Easterwood officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with Full military honors.

Mary Pisarkiewicz, a resident of Bloomfield, passed away on December 26, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Dexter at the age of 75 years. 

Miss Pisarkiewicz had been disabled all of her life and has no known family.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday morning at 10:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg McGhee.  Interment will be held at a later date in the Essex Cemetery.

Tina Ann Kneeshaw

Tina Ann Kneeshaw, daughter of the late Robert and Peggy Kneeshaw, was born on April 13, 1974 in Long Beach, California and passed away on January 10, 2014 at her residence in Bloomfield at the age of 39.

Ms. Kneeshaw had worked as a registered nurse.

She is survived by her daughter, Shyanne Kneeshaw, of Bloomfield.

A memorial service will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. 

All arrangements are being handled by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home.

Agnes D. Crabtree, daughter of the late Clarence and Marguerite Simpson Vaughan, was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on July 16, 1938, and passed away at the Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri on January 10, 2014, at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 25 days.

She had lived in Southeast Missouri the past twenty years and had been a Sunday school teacher and Pastor in the Assembly of God Church of which she was a member.

She was married to Richard Patrick Crabtree, Sr. and he preceded her in death on January 13, 1999.

Surviving are two daughters, Pam Ratajczyk of Scheller, Illinois, Pat Hente of Dexter, Missouri; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three brothers, Gerald Vaughan of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Robert Vaughan of Hawaii, C. R. Vaughan, Jr. of Searcy, Arkansas; one sister, Donas York of Jacksonville, North Carolina. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Patrick Crabtree, Jr., two sisters and three brothers.
Friends may visit on Monday, January 13, 2014, after 12:00 noon at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 13, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Mike Kohlbaker of Dexter, Missouri officiating.

Interment with be in the Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery in Advance, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
