Brad Locke was born on January 13, 1955, at Missouri Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston, Missouri. He passed away at his home in Houston, Texas on May 26, 2013.
He is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Evelyn Locke of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; a brother, Christopher Blake Locke of Houston Texas; a sister, Linda Beth Foust and husband, Paul Foust, of St. Charles, Missouri; two daughters, Amy Marie Locke and fiancée, Patrick Loynes, and Allison Claire Locke, all of Houston, Texas; and their mother, Rebecca Locke. He is also survived by one Aunt, Linda Kay Collier of Dexter, Missouri; one Uncle, James E. Long and wife, Joyce, of Dexter, Missouri; by twelve cousins; by many relatives, friends and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Russell and Delours Long and by his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Minta Locke.
Brad received Jesus as his Savior at the age of ten years at the First General Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff. When his family joined First Baptist Church, he was baptized by Brother John Gilbert on July 7, 1974.
Brad attended O’Neal Grade School and was outstanding in track and basketball. He was a star pitcher and third baseman in Little League baseball. He played guard on the Poplar Bluff Mules High School basketball team for four years. In high school, he took up golf. On the golf team, he went to the state tournament all four years while winning the district individual title for two years.
After graduating from high school, he received a full golf scholarship to Northwest Louisiana State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He was a stand-out player for four years. He and his brother won so many trophies his mother said she had them in every closet of the house.
Brad was an all around person as he played coronet in the Poplar Bluff High School marching band. He had an outstanding singing voice and loved to play the guitar. He sang in the choir and played the guitar at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
After college graduation, he worked for Ivy Construction and Letsos Company in Houston, Texas as a Senior Project Manager.
After moving to Houston, he and his family joined the First Baptist Church in Tomball, Texas but attended Metropolitan Baptist Church at the time of his death.
Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Buff, Missouri on Sunday, June 2, 2013, from 1:30 P. M. - 3:00 P. M.
Services will follow at 3:00 P. M., with Dr. William Vail officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
