Forest S. Denton

Forest S. Denton, son of Bernice Evelyn Strange Denton and the late Hershell B. Denton, was born in Flora, Illinois on April 12, 1944, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on February 10, 2013, at the age of 68 years.

He had lived in and around Flora, Illinois most of his life until moving to Puxico 12 years ago.  He had worked as an electrician and plumber and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He was first married in 1965, to Diane Sullivan in Louisville, Illinois and three children were born. In 2001, he was married to Wanda Hart in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife; Wanda Denton of Puxico, Missouri; two daughters, Shirley Acree of Louisville, Illinois, Tina Kilgore of Fountain, Colorado; one son, Tracy Denton of Braidwood, Illinois; one step-daughter, Anita Weedman of Norris City, Illinois; one step-son, Keith Moore of Puxico, Missouri, nine grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren; four sisters, Sharon (Cecil) Atchison of Marion, Illinois, Karen Denton of Iuka, Illinois, Terri Ettleson of Flora, Illinois and Toni (Darrell) Carder of Clay City, Illinois. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father and one nephew, Bryce Ettleson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Visitation will then be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, Illinois with Bro. Jeff Hough of Johnsonville, Illinois officiating.

Interment will be in the Bunker Hill Cemetery near Flora, Illinois with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter & Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, Illinois in charge of arrangements.

Bobby Lee Cowart

Bobby Lee Cowart, son of the late Raymond and Alberta Mitchell Cowart, was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on August 21,1944, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing & Rehab. Center in Puxico, Missouri on February 8, 2013, at the age of 68 years.

He had lived most of his life in Dexter area. He worked in agriculture.

On October 21,1982, he was married to Eva Mae Martin in Baldknob, Arkansas. She preceded him, in death on February 21, 1994.

Surviving are four daughters, Patricia Wright, and Amanda Green, both of Dexter Missouri, Bethany Clark, of Tupelo, Mississippi; Bobbie Sue, of Atlanta, Georgia; and Susie Henson of Ripley, Tennessee; two sons Harold Williams, of Guntown, Mississippi; and Robert Williams, Nettleton, Mississippi; nineteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Blanchard, of Festus, Missouri, and Barbara Coleman of Malden, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, and four grandchildren.

A private family service is planned a later date, with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Lee "Red" Lamunion, son of John Thomas Lamunion and Pearlie Mae Felts Lamunion was born in Bernie, Missouri on January 17, 1924 and departed this life at Malden Nursing Center in Malden, Missouri on February 9, 2013 at the age of 89.

Mr. Lamunion had served in the United States Army during World War II. He had worked in Factories thru his life and was of Baptist Faith.

He was united in marriage to Juanita Verble Watson in Piggott, Arkansas on April 17, 2002.  Mrs. Lamunion survives.

Other survivors include numerous Children, Step-Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ruben Arthur White

Ruben Arthur White, son of James Ruben White and Elizabeth Ann Mitchell White was born in Bernie, Missouri on May 6, 1935 and departed this life at his residence in Campbell, Missouri on February 7, 2013 at the age of 77. 

Mr. White had served his country in the United States Air Force, and had been a farmer through out his life.  He was a member of Bethany General Baptist Church of Campbell, Missouri where he had served as Deacon and was now Honorary Deacon.

He was united in marriage to Margaret Bond in France on December 30, 1955.  Mrs. White survives of their home in Campbell.

Other Survivors include, two sons, Ruben Michael White of Trinity, North Carolina and Johnny Dean White of Malden, Missouri; by one daughter, Bonita Gwen Faulkner of Bernie, Missouri; by one brother, Bill White of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; by six grandchildren; also by other relatives and many friends.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, February 10, 2013 at the Bethany General Baptist Church in Rural Campbell, Missouri starting at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Bryan Johnson officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.  

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Charles “Skip” Wallace, son of the late Charles Blake Wallace and Judith Prentice Wallace was born on May 2, 1944 in Nashville, Tennessee and died on February 6, 2013 at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 68.

Mr. Wallace was a Veteran of the United States Army, a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter and a resident of Dexter.  He was the owner of Skip Wallace Chiropractic in Dexter.

On September 15, 1973 he was united in marriage to Sylvia Hancock in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.  Mrs. Wallace survives of their residence in Dexter.

Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Shawn Wallace of Imperial, Missouri and Scott Wallace of San Diego, California and by two daughters, Taylor Wallace of Dexter and Alexandra Wallace of Dexter.

Friends may call at the First General Baptist Church in Dexter on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from Noon until 2:00 P.M.

A memorial service will then be conducted on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the First General Baptist Church in Dexter at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating. 

A private burial will be conducted at a later date in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. 

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
