Rachel A. Childers

Rachel A. Childers, daughter of the late Leon McCoy and Mildred Marie Purcell McCoy, was born on February 1, 1953, in Dexter, Missouri, and passed away on January 23, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 59.

Mrs. Childers was a homemaker and a former employee of Tyson Foods, Inc. of Dexter and Elder Manufacturing of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Lawson Childers on July 16, 1991, at Bloomfield, Missouri.  Mr. Childers survives of the home.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, William Lawson McCoy, and his wife, Paula, of Dexter, Missouri; by one stepson, Virgil A. Childers, of Portageville, Missouri; by one stepdaughter, Beverly JoAnn Allen, of Malden, Missouri; by three brothers, Gary McCoy, Rodger McCoy and Danny McCoy, all of Dexter, Missouri; by two sisters, Carolyn Snider of Dexter, Missouri, and Kandy Koechner of Advance, Missouri; by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy McCoy, Dennis McCoy and Darrell McCoy.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri, on Sunday, January 27, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 28, 2013, at 10:00 A.M., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Malloy officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri.
