Cynthia Ranee Powell

Cynthia Ranee Powell, daughter of Mary Gromer Kinder of Dexter and the late Bobby J. Powell was born on March 23, 1960 at Dexter and departed this life in her residence at Dexter on April 21, 2012 at the age of 52.

Ms. Powell was a former beautician in the Poplar Bluff area, a member of Faith Fellowship Church of Dexter and a resident of Dexter.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Mary and Arthur Kinder of Dexter: by three brothers, Bobby Powell of Broadhead, Wisconsin, Mike Conway and Keith Kinder both of Sikeston: by four sisters, Debbie Nelson of Qulin, Donna Gravil of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Daronda Brown of East Prairie and Pam Kinder of Sikeston: by her aunt, Ann Beck of Dudley: by two uncles, John Powell and Henry Powell, both of Dudley: by her cat, Hope.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2012 at the  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2: p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Karen Oldham officiating.  Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

Mary Lou Kinder
Mary Lou Kinder, daughter of the late Eugene Walker and Mary Cato Walker was born on May 29, 1928 in Advance, Missouri and departed this life at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 21, 2012 at the age of 83 years.

Mrs. Kinder was a former employee of Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter for 27 years and affiliated with the St. Joe General Baptist Church.  She was a member of the Dexter Eastern Star, Ladies Auxiliary, Dexter Elks Lodge, and a resident of Essex, Missouri.

On September 28, 1946 she was united in marriage to Earl Joseph Kinder in Piggott, Arkansas.  Mr. Kinder preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-laws, Terry Kinder and Teresa of Kennett, Randy Kinder and Peggy of Dexter, Steven Kinder and Joyce of Dexter; by one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Burleson and Brent of Essex; seven grandchildren, Todd Kinder, Travis Kinder, Chasity McLaughlin, Matt Kinder, Leslie Pyle, Colby Burleson, and Lance Burleson; by twelve great-grandchildren; also by a very special friend Ron Smith.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe Walker, Truman Walker, Wilburn Walker, Cloyd Walker, and Harold Walker; and by three sisters, Jessie Proffer, Wanda Bedwell, and Georgie Cooper.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.  Funeral services will be conducted ar 2 p.m.,  Monday, April 23, 2012. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.  Interment will follow in the Triplett Cemetery.

Laura Stroder

Laura Stroder, daughter of Doyle W. Eubanks of Bloomfield, Missouri and Kathy M. Cantrell Eubanks of Dexter was born on May 16, 1967 in Bloomfield and departed this on April 19, 2012 at her residence in Dexter and the age of 44 years.

Laura was an employee with Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging in Cape Girardeau and a resident of Dexter.

Besides her parents, survivors include one son, Joshua Stroder of Farmington; by a lifelong partner and companion, Rick L. Williams of Dexter; her companion’s sons, Richard Williams of Dudley, and Roy Williams of Dexter; by paternal grandfather, Willard Eubanks of Bloomfield; by two brothers, Brian Eubanks of Dexter and Jason Eubanks of O’Fallon, Missouri; and by two grandchildren, Addilyn Williams and Tayton Williams.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Christopher Stroder.

Friends may call from12:30 until 2 p.m.,Saturday,April 21,2012, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.  Funeral services will then be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Jim Hook officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Wilma Jean Craft

Wilma Jean Craft, daughter of the late Emery Stroder and Beulah Kynion Stroder was born on August 26, 1936 in Crump, Missouri and died on April 19, 2012 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 75.

Mrs. Craft had worked at the International Hat Factory and was a homemaker.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Essex.   

On September 4, 1954 she was united in marriage to Leo Glenn Craft in Crump. Mr. Craft preceded her in death on November 19, 1998.      

She is survived by one son, Rodney Craft of Dexter; by two daughters, Sandy Pratt and Robin Walker both of Dexter; by one sister, Virginia Bohnsack of Jackson; by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.    

A private graveside service was conducted on Saturday, April 21, 2012 with Rev. Dennis Ward officiating.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

Helen Beatress Zuck, daughter of the late Benjamin Thomas and Eva May Schumpert Sanders, was born in Parma, Missouri, on July 4, 1929, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on April 20, 2012, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 16 days.

Mrs. Zuck had grown up in Parma and had lived the past 20 years in Dexter. She was employed by Kneibert Clinic as a janitor. She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Bible Way Church in Dexter.

On November 22, 1947, she was married to Francis Zuck in East Prairie. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1992.

Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Sue Chaney of Dexter and two sons, Francis Zuck, Jr. of Bellevue, Ohio, Travis Wayne Zuck of Hutchenson, Kansas; by nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and by two brothers, T J Sanders of Bloomfield and Charles Sanders of Cape Girardeau; and one sister, Katherine Baker of Joplin. Other family and friends also survive her.

She was preceded in death by three children in infancy, one daughter, Janice Zuck and one brother, Thomas James Sanders.

Visitation will be held after 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m.,Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Shirley McRoy of Dexter officiating.

Interment will be in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery in East Prairie with Watkins ND Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
