Delphia Mae Duckworth
Delphia Duckworth, daughter of the late James W. Trotter and Nora Ethel Tennison was born on August 30, 1912 in Hamilton County, Illinois and departed this life on May 9, 2011 at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 98 years.

Mrs. Duckworth was a housewife, a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church in Essex, Missouri, and a resident of rural Essex.

On December 18, 1929 she was united in marriage to Royal Duckworth in Bloomfield, Missouri. Mr. Duckworth preceded her in death on February 3, 1990.

Survivors include one daughter, Juanita E. Hicks of Essex; three sons, Darrell G. Duckworth and Clinton Duckworth both of Dexter, and Carroll D. Duckworth of Essex, Missouri; by two sisters, Lucille Henson of Bloomfield, Missouri and Barbara Lou Shipman of Fairdealing, Missouri; also by nineteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dale Duckworth and Donald Duckworth; one daughter, Ethel Bell; one brother, Dick Trotter; two sisters, Eva Wheeler and Dorothy Rogers; also by two grandchildren, Ruth Ann Jowers and Denise Bell; and by one great-grandson, Jared Gibson.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12:30 until 2 p.m., Friday May 13, 2011. Funeral services will then be conducted at 2 p.m.,. on Friday May 13, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. James Hook officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri.

Howard E. McCollough
Howard E. McCollough, son of the late Francis McCollough and Hattie Sheehy McCollough, was born on October 17, 1923 near Dexter and departed this life in the Westwood Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center at Poplar Buff on May 3, 2011 at the age of 87.

Mr. McCollough attended the Corinth General Baptist near Puxico, was a farmer and a resident of Dudley.

He was united in marriage to Verline Ferguson on October 18, 1942 near Dexter. Mrs. McCollough survives of the home near Dudley.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Howard “BUD” McCollough and wife Pat of Dudley: by one daughter, Dorothy Tankersley and husband Jerry of Wappapello: by one brother, Kenneth McCollough of Dexter: by one sister, Ruth Ann McCollough of Dexter: by eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Delvis McCollough: by three brothers, John McCollough, Alfred McCollough and Bud McCollough: by two sisters, Dorothy Mathews and Joy Agnes McCollough.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 -8 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Justin Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Steve “Wayne” Link, son of the late Edgar Washington Link and Ollie Mason Link was born on January 4, 1944 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on April 30, 2011 at the age of 67 years.

Mr. Link was a member of the Wappapello Eagles, Wappapello VFW, and was a resident of Wappapello, Missouri.

Survivors include two sons, Steven Lloyd Link of Rockford, Illinois and Christopher Allen Link of Wappapello, Missouri; one daughter Tracy Gaither of Advance, Missouri; by three brothers, Robert Floyd Link of Wappapello, George Eugene Link of Dexter and William Voss of Wappapello; by four sisters, Louise Waggoner and Doris Horn both of Dexter, Bernice Hunt of Columbia, Missouri, and Charlette Zimmerman of Bernie, Missouri; also by fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis C. Nunn and James Conway Link; also by one sister, Donnie Lee Barber.

A private Memorial service will be held at a later date. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home will be conducting all arrangements.

Kathleen Davis daughter of the late Everett Good and Dorothy Colbert Good was born on March 27, 1940 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and died on April 29, 2011 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 71.

Mrs. Davis was a resident of Wappapello, Missouri, a home maker, a member of the First Christian Church formerly of Bloomfield. She loved her grandchildren, loved to read, working in her flowers, hummingbirds and her dog.

On June 17, 1959 she was united in marriage to John S. Davis in Kennett, Missouri. Mr. Davis survives of their home in Wappapello.

Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Mindy and Tim Robey of Dexter and Lynn and Steve Pullum of Dexter; by four grandchildren, T.J. Robey, Drew Robey, Logan Robey and Taylor Robey all of Dexter and by two step grandchildren, Tyler Pullum and Travis Pullum.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 10 a.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Wayne Dismuke and Dr. Steve Easterwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

The family requests that all memorials be made to the St. Jude Tribute Program %P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142, and In Touch Ministries. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.

Billie Sue Davis Mulcahy met the glory of her Lord on April 29, 2011. She was born on September 29, 1951 to the late Edward Livingston Davis IV and Blanch Grace Phillips Davis in Caruthersville, Missouri. Billie departed this life at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 29, 2011 at the age of 59 years.

She married David Owen Mulcahy of Sikeston Mo. On January 5 1979, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to this union three children were born, Kevin Owen Mulcahy and daughter- in- law Carissa Anne Mulcahy of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by two daughters, Kimbely Dyan Mulcahy of Dexter and Ashley Michelle Mulcahy of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has three grandchildren Jack Mulcahy, Eleanor Rose Mulcahy and Jonathan William Mulcahy.

She is survived by one sister Cheryl L. Peters, one niece, Elizabeth Dyan Stites and one brother, Edward Livingston Davis V (Butch) and nephew Edward Livingston Davis VI.

Billie Sue was a social worker with the Missouri Division of Family Services in both Cape Girardeau County and Stoddard County. She was also a social worker in Monroe, Louisiana for the State of Louisiana. Billie Sue Mulcahy is a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, Mo., serving as Treasurer of her Sunday School Class.

She was an officer in the David’s Pharmacy Inc. of Dexter, Mo for the past 25 years and an active member of the community. She and her family were members of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, Missouri.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home from 4 - 7 p.m., Sunday May 1, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday May 2, 2011 at 2 p.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Allen Reeves and Dr. Steve Easterwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
