Prescription Drug Take Back Event on Saturday

Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie Police Department is sponsoring a "Prescription Drug Take Back Event" in conjunction with the Bernie Chamber of Commerce and the Missouri Rural Water Association on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

You can bring your unused or unwanted prescription medication to the Walgreens Parking Lot located at 116 S. Walnut St on Hwy 25 in Bernie.

"Let's all do our part in properly disposing of these drugs.  Proper disposal of these medications will prevent possible misuse and will also keep them from harming the environment in which we live," stated Justin Allen, Chief of Police, Bernie Police Department.

Dexter Police Dept. Responds to Alleged Bomb Threat

Dexter, Missouri - On Monday, April 24, 2017, Dexter Police officers were dispatched to a residence inside Dexter City Limits reference to threats being made by phone.

Approximately one hour later the Dexter Police Department receive information of an alleged bomb threat at a local business in Dexter MO. The allegation were related to the above call.

The business was evacuated as a precaution and the Southeast Regional Bomb Squad was contacted.

Southeast Regional Bomb Squad arrived and no explosives or incendiary devices were located.

The Investigation continues.

Sikeston, MO - Northbound ramp on I-55 in Cape County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

This ramp is located at Exit 93A (Route 74/Sprigg Street).

Weather permitting, work will be performed Sunday, April 30 starting at 6:30 a.m. and will re-open on Monday, May 1 at 5:30 a.m.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

Northbound I-55 in Cape County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge repairs.

The bridge is located between Route AB and Route 74.

Weather permitting, work will take place Sunday, April 30 at 6:30 a.m. The work zone will be left up overnight and taken down the following morning.

The work zone will be marked with signs.  Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

Route 25 Reduced and WB On Ramp to Route 60 Closed in Stoddard County for Utility Work
 
Southbound Route 25 in Stoddard County will be reduced with a 10 foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews install a fiber optic line.

This section of roadway is located at the intersection of Southbound Route 25 and Route 60. The ramp from Route 25 South to Westbound Route 60 will be closed during installation.                                 

Weather permitting, work will take place Thursday, April 27 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
