The travel itinerary included England, Italy, Australia, Antarctica, South America, and back home to the U.S.A. A lot of traveling in 60 minutes!
More than 90 boys and girls went on a great adventure Wednesday during the fifth week of summer Story Hour at the Keller Public Library in Dexter. The theme for this summer's program has been "One World, Many Stories."
"Tour Guide" Rita LeBeau, assisted by her travel assistants, led the youngsters on a fun-filled tour. The morning was filled with music, dance and exciting stories read by guest readers.
Guest readers this week include Dexter attorney John William Ringer, who read two stories about the penguins at Antarctica. He explained to the youngsters the differences in climate between Southeast Missouri and Antarctica.
"What happens here in March and April," Ringer asked the group.
"March Madness," replied one young lad, much to the surprise of the crowd of adults.
In addition to Ringer, guest readers at Story Hour Wednesday included Delisa Stize, Lindsey J. Schlief, Marrianne Bruce, and Mike Clippard.

The Story Hour was capped off with a pizza party, with pizza served to everyone. Library Director Pam Trammell said the pizza - and the cost of the summer Story Hour program - was provided by the Friends of the Library organization.
Next Wednesday, July 20, is the last session of the six-week Story Hour program. Story Hour will begin at 10 a.m., and will feature Zoofari.
“Zoofari will feature animals from six continents. There will be mammals, birds and reptiles and other creatures from around the world,” Trammell said. The staff from Animal Tales of Mayfield, Kent, will be on hand to share and experience the youngsters are sure to enjoy.
