Advance H.S. 2020 Volleyball Schedule Released

Advance, MO - The 2020 Advance High School Volleyball Schedule has been released.  The Hornets will begin their season on September 4th at Richland.  They will compete in the Perryville Varsity Volleyball Tournament and the Jackson Varsity Volleyball Tournament as well as the Stoddard County Athletic Association Volleyball Tournament.

Jack Below Records his 1,000th Career Point in High School Basketball

Advance, Missouri - The Advance Hornets honored senior Jack Below on January 7, 2020.  He scored his 1,000th point on December 9, 2019 against Puxico.  

After the game on Tuesday it was recorded that Below has 1,177 total points for his career and the season is just underway!

"We at Advance High School are proud to honor another member entering our 1000 point club for boys basketball," commented James Hamlin, Advance High School Athletic Director.

The Hornets defeated Clearwater 83-75 on Tuesday at Advance High School.

Advance led at the end of each quarter, but the Tigers stayed right on the edge throughout the game.

Landon Dailey and Jaren Schrader tallied double figures with 17 and 16 points respectively.

Karson Fay recorded a game-high 28 points for Clearwater ..

Class 2, District 3 All District Baseball Team Announced

Class 2, District 3 All District Team has been announced for the Spring 2019 highs school baseball season.

Advance had five players.  Augustus Garner, Hunter Curtis, Ridley Bailey and Noah Sauceda each earned honors on the all district team.

Layton Keith of Advance received Honor Mention.

Hyten Named SCAA Coach of the Year, Two Advance Players Also Named
Dexter, Missouri - Former Dexter boys basketball coach Lloyd Hyten was named the SCAA (Stoddard County Athletic Association) Coach of the Year.

Hyten led the Bearcats (15 -12, 7-0 SCAA) to their third straight SCAA regular-season championship and their first SCAA tournament championship since 2012.

Jack Below from the Advance High School boys basketball team (12-14, 5-2) was named the SCAA Player of the Year. He averaged 26.7 points per game. 

Advance senior Wes Shelby was named the SCAA Defensive Player of the Year. He helped the Hornets to a third-place finish in the regular-season standings and in the conference tournament.
