Bernie, Missouri - Starting Monday, October 16th thru October 20th the Bernie Chamber of Commerce members will hide painted pumpkins EVERYDAY throughout Bernie.

There will be two pumpkins hidden each day the week of the Bernie Fall Festival.

Please watch their Facebook page because as the pumpkins are hidden each day they will post clues to lead you right to them.

Once you have found the pumpkin, it is yours to keep.  They would love to see your photos with the pumpkins on their Facebook page.  Click HERE>

The best part is not only do you get to keep the painted pumpkin, but you will also receive a prize!

Just bring the pumpkin you find to the Bernie Chamber of Commerce booth at the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 21st.

Calling All Pie Lovers!

Bernie, Missouri - Please join the Bernie Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, October 21st at their annual Fall Festival for their first Pie Eating Contest. The contest will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Free entry for children's division and only $5.00 for the adult division.  Prize are $25 for children and $75 for adult.

Children's age division is 7 - 11 and adult is 12 - 100.

Contest Rules:

1. Pies will be placed on table and hands will be held behind backs.

2. Children’s Division will be open to ages 7-11. Adult division will be open to ages 12-100.

3. There will be a five minute time set for each division.

4. The first person to finish his/her pie and stand up, or when the time limit is reached, will be declared the winner.

5. A cash prize in the amount of $25 for children’s division and $75 for adult division will be awarded to the winner.

6. In the event of a tie there will be two judges to make to finial decision.

7. Any visible signs of sickness will cause disqualification.

8. Waiver must be signed by contestants prior to contest. All children contestants must have a parent’s signature on the waiver.

9. The number of contestants will be limited to the first 10 to register in each division.

10. There will be a $5 entry fee for the adult division and FREE for the children’s division.

Please bring cash or make checks payable to Bernie Chamber of Commerce.

Bark in the Park at Bernie Fall Festival

Bernie, Missouri - Bark in the Park will feature a dog pageant at the Bernie Fall Festival on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in the city park.

Dog owners must clean up after their dogs. Leashes are also required.

There will a low entry fee of $5.00.  Clothing and/or costumes are optional.  Prizes will be awarded.

Annual Bernie Fall Festival Set for Saturday, October 21st

Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Bernie Fall Festival on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

The Fall Festival Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. heading west starting from the downtown area and stopping at the Bernie School.  Line-up begins at 9:15 a.m. in the parking lot downtown next to the railroad and across from Main Street Restaurant at 103 Drake Street.

Bicycle Contest with 1st Place winning $25, 2nd Place winning $15 and 3rd Place winning $10.  Float Decorating Contest and Band Competition also has three prizes of $150, $100, and $50.  Floats and bikes will be judged on best decor and does not have to be themed.

Join everyone at the Bernie City Park for food and fun!  Opening ceremony at the park will be at 11:30 a.m. with live bands beginning at 11:45 a.m.  There will be a petting zoo, giveaways, beauty pageants, pie eating contest, car show, dog pageants, 50/50 raffle, corn hole tournament, 9 hole mini golf, horse and pony rides, arts and crafts vendors and lots of wonderful food.

Bernie Masonic Lodge Bikes for Book Program a Success

Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie Masonic Lodge gave away several bicycles to Risco and Bernie students as a part of the Bikes for Book programs sponsored by the Grand Lodge of Missouri.

Risco sixth grade student Haley Hensley was one of several students to received a free bike from the Bernie Masonic Lodge.

"We will be giving away bicycles to the Risco Public Schools and the Bernie Public Schools as part of the Bikes for Book program," stated David Gasser, Master at the Bernie Masonic Lodge.  "The program is sponsored by the Grand Lodge of Missouri."

It’s essential to establish a love for reading early in life. Towards that end, Masons in Missouri are happy to bring the Masonic Bikes for Books program to students throughout Missouri's Elementary and Middle schools. The objectives of the program are threefold:

•    to increase student reading and comprehension skills
•    to recognize positive student achievements
•    to provide an attainable goal, with life enhancing results

Students are invited to participate in the program, and each time they read an age appropriate book, their name will go into the drawing; the more they read, the better their chances of earning a bike a
