
Puxico, Missouri - The Bernie Mules volleyball team travel to Puxico to take on the Indians Thursday evening. The Varsity team pulled out a win 25-9, 25-17 over the Puxico Lady Indians.
Morgan Baker led the team in serving points with nine; six of which were during the first set and three in the second set. Madi Wooldridge and Taylor Anthony had two service aces and Taylor Lovelady had one.
Kayli Tanner and two blocks and Madi Wooldridge had one.
Mabree Stone had 6 digs, Kaylie Tanner and Christina Dowdy each had 5 digs. Morgan Baker and Cymber Arnold finished with 4 digs each.
Both Mabree Stone and Kayli Tanner had 7 kills for the night. Cymber Arnold had three, Taylor Anthony had two, and Madi Wooldridge had one.
In Junior Varsity action, the Mules defeated the Indians 25-7, 25-14.
Ryleigh Foster led the team in serving points with 14 points while serving 8 in a row the first set and then during the second set, she scored three points in a row two different times. Four were aces.
Cassidy Freed had 7 serving points in the first set. She had three service aces. Haylee Robinette finished with two service aces.
Cassidy Freed led the team defensively with 9 digs and very few errors. Daisy Eaton had 5 digs, Alivia Cobb had 4 digs and Haylee Robineet finished with three digs.
Daisy Eaton and Cassidy Freed each had 4 kills. Taylor Matney and Makayla Turner had two kills. Ryleigh Foster finished with 12 assists.
"I am proud of both teams tonight," commented head coach Monica Collier. "Varsity came back after a tough loss a couple night before. They didn't like that feeling so they had their mind on winning tonight."
"Looking forward to playing Portageville at home next Thursday." The Bernie Lady Mules have a few days off and will return to the court hosting the Portageville Lady Dogs on Thursday, September 22nd.

Dexter, Missouri - Krysten Garrison was chosen as the MaxPreps/AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Player of the Week for Missouri for September 5th - September 9th. Only one athlete per state is chosen each week.
Garrison is a 5'10" junior at Dexter High School. Her current stats for that week were 27 kills, 6.75 kills per game, 2 digs, 6 receptions, 2 aces, and 9 blocks in the four games scheduled.
"That's a great accomplishment and honor for Krysten," commented head volleyball coach Carmen Morgan. "I am very proud of her."

Ironton, Missouri - Congratulations to the Dexter High School Cross Country athletes who earned medals at the Arcadia Valley Invitational Meet on Saturday, September 10, 2016. The DHS boys varsity finished 7th and the DHS boys junior varsity finished 4th overall.
Emily Ladd, a junior at Dexter High School, competed in the girls varsity 5,000 meter run finishing 3rd in 21:04.23.
Margo Nea, a freshman at Dexter High School, competed in the girls varsity 5,000 meter run finishing 9th in 22:10.71.
Sean Rybolt, a junior at Dexter High School, competed in the boys junior varsity 5,000 meter run finishing 13th in 21:03.97.
Both the boys and girls cross country teams will be back in action on Saturday, September 17th traveling to Marryville University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ironton, Missouri - Congratulations to the Dexter Middle School Cross Country Athletes who earned medals at Arcadia Valley Invitational Meet on Saturday, September 10, 2016. T.S. Hill boys cross country finished 3rd out of 12 teams competing.
South Iron County Middle School boys cross country team placed first with a total time of 44:31.86. John E. Evans (Potosi) finished in 2nd place with a total time of 45:26.52. Dexter boys cross country team finished in 3rd place with a total time of 47:24.35 and Bloomfield Middle School finished in 4th place with a total time of 47:23.11.
Individual results are as follows:
Gabrielle Barrett finished 11th in girls cross country with a time of 11:00.88.
Madelyn Haynes finished 13th in girls cross country with a time of 11:08.79.
Carter Dorton finished 8th in boys cross country with a time of 8:47.40.
Andrew Ellinghouse finished 17th in boys cross country with a time of 9:12.11.
Gavin Cartwright finished 24th in boys cross country with a time of 9:24.20.
Both the girls and boys cross country teams will be back in action on Wednesday, September 21st at Van Buren Invitational 4:00 p.m.

Dexter, Missouri - The ShowMe Times Dexter Sports Spotlight shines on Maddie Jacques.
Maddie is a Dexter Bearcat Football Cheerleader. She is a sophomore at the Dexter High School.
She is the daughter of Mark and Michelle Jacques. Her grandparents are Clyde and Judy Jacques of Dexter, Missouri.
Jacques is active in DECA and Student Council. Maddie also joined Sr. Beta Club, a new club at Dexter High School.
She has lettered in cheerleading one year.
Her future plans are to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, and then become a lawyer. Maddie enjoys shopping.
She attends Bernie Church of Christ and is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
