Dexter Farmers Market Held Each Thursday

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Farmers Market is held each Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Circle G on Market Street just behind Busy B Lumber.  Each week there are about 16 vendors total.  The Farmers Market will meet each week until September 28th.

The Farmers Market has all kinds of berries, peaches, green beans, peas, radishes, potatoes, fruits, tomatoes and more. Plus local honey, meats, homemade pastries, cookies, and salsa. The crafts include jewelry, soaps and fragrances, bird houses, rabbit cages, signs, dream catchers and more.

National Farmers Market Week is August 6th - 12th 2017. Dexter Mayor Joe Weber signed a proclamation in 2016 stating that Dexter will recognize and celebrate National Farmers Market Week and it will be celebrated annually.

If you are interested in setting up at the Farmers Market the cost is $5.00 each Thursday or get a season pass for $25. Please contact the Dexter Chamber of Commerce at (573) 624 - 7458.

Chamber Holds Ribbon Cutting for New Edward Jones Location

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Robert E. Monroe, Financial Advisor for Edward Jones.  The business is located at 1420 North Outer Road Suite B in Dexter.

Edward Jones offers financial advice on wealth management, retirement and college savings, stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, and annuities.

Business hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Contact number is (573) 624-3899.

An Open House is set for Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.  This is a drop-in event and the public is encouraged to celebrate their new location.

Chamber Ribbon Cutting for Bloom Salon

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Bloom Salon located at 205 N. One Mile Road.

Bloom Salon opened in March 2017 and have recently joined the Chamber.  They are open Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. - noon.

They offer a wide range of services that include hair care, cuts, styling, perms, colors, shampoos, conditioning, curling, relaxers, etc., make-up for proms, bridal, pageant, and more, eyebrows and eyelash extensions.

On Saturday, June 17, 2017 Bloom Salon will have their Open House from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Southern Cross Food Truck will also be available.

DAR Donates Book in Memory of Jane Flowers

Dexter, Missouri - At their regular June meeting, the Crowley's Ridge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution donated a very special book in memory of Joyce Jane Averett Flowers to Keller Public Library.

"The Heritage of Cherokee County, Georgia 1831-1998" is the book's title. 

Flowers was a Charter Member of the Crowley's Ridge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution from 1988 until her death in 2017.

Donating the book to Pam Trammell, Director of Keller Public Library, on behalf of her grandmother is Delaney Flowers.

Dexter, Missouri - At their regular June meeting, the Crowley's Ridge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution donated two books to Keller Public Library.

"Gardening for Birds, Butterflies & Bees", a book from the editor of Birds and Blooms to Keller Public Library and "Trail of 32" by Paul Rega were donated in memory of Wayne Hutchcraft, husband of Connie Hutchcraft, DAR Chapter Member.
