Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie School Board met in regular session on Monday, December 9, 2019. Below are the meeting minutes submitted to the ShowMe Times for publication.
Filing dates were announced for election to the Board of Education. Those dates are December 17th at 8:00 AM through January 21st at 5:00 PM.
Positions up for re-election this year are Rick Beaird, Denny Riddle and Richard Owens.
The Board announced the opening for nominations to the Hall of Fame.
Nominations will be accepted through the end of December and will be reviewed at the January Board Meeting.
The Board reviewed & approved the 2018/19 Financial Audit and approved paying the bills and replenishing petty cash.
During executive session, the administration presented a mid-year staff review and Mr. Hicks presented his goals to the Board.
The Board accepted the resignation from Amber Eaton, Elementary Para Professional.

Bernie, Missouri - Positive Office Referrals at Bernie R-13 Schools. These students were caught making excellent choices and deserve to be recognized!

KaBrielle (3rd) was being thoughtful of others in her group during math centers.
Kinley and Ashtin (3rd) are always doing what they are supposed to be doing and are very helpful.
Miles (1st) has been a good listener and classroom helper this week.
Eylen (2nd) had a terrific week.

Brendan (5th) gave another student a piece of his candy.
Liliana and Brooklyn (6th) always work hard and have a great attitude. In addition, they gave up their recess all last week to work on their class' Red Ribbon Week door.
Brooklyn and Kaileah (6th) helped bring cups of water to the preschoolers.
Caiden (4th) was helping other students in class.
Brantley (2nd) helped a friend tie his shoes.
Paisley (2nd) cleaned up paper towels in the bathroom without being asked.

Bernie, Missouri - Bernie Elementary Positive Office Referrals were awarded this week. These students were rewarded for their good behavior!
Students who earn such an honor also received a Subway Sandwich Gift Card and a POR Certificate.
