Bernie Positive Office Referrals for Week February 19th

Bernie, Missouri - Bernie Elementary Positive Office Referrals were awarded this week.  These students were rewarded for their good behavior!

Students who earn such an honor also received a Subway Sandwich Gift Card and a POR Certificate.

These students were referred for displaying positive behavior!

Conner (1st) is a good friend and helps others carry heavy things down the hall.

Mason (4th) is always a hard worker.

McKenzie (3rd) helped a friend when they were upset.

Ember and Gabriella (3rd) are always working hard.

Yaritza (5th) stopped and helped another student when he spilled his art box out of his locker. 

Ashtin (2nd) helped another student with her math page and played with a new student at recess.

Chloe (2nd) played with a new student at recess.

NOT PICTURED:  Brooks (1st) is always kind and sets a good example for others.  Amelia (2nd) helped another student with their money worksheet.

Bernie Elementary Positive Office Referral Awards

Bernie, Missouri - Positive Office Referrals at Bernie Elementary.   These students were caught making great choices at school.

Front Row: 

Rosie & Eylen (1st) are always helpful when picking up the classroom. 

Robert (K) saw a teacher walking to put her tray away, and he volunteered to do it for her. 

Camden (K) has been working so hard.

Kinley (2nd) helped another student come up with an idea for a writing assignment. 

Ashtin (2nd) helped another student cut out their moose for a writing project.

Brooklyn (2nd) picked up another student's trash bag from the floor and also helped a student pick up their glasses. 

Karllet (2nd) helped another student with her reading story.

Lila & Mandy (4th) helped keep the classroom clean.

Back Row: 

Tatum & Amyah (5th) are always helpful, friendly, and hardworking. 

Cade (6th) helped his classmates finish up history day projects. He is a hard worker. 

Cameron (6th) held the door for the entire elementary Friday after the pep rally.

Finley (4th) had an excellent week.

Rhemy (6th) has been working hard.

Brooklyn (3rd) has been working hard and paying attention in reading class this week.

Mark (5th) gave his gloves to another student who needed gloves.

Evan (5th) turned in money he found on the floor instead of keeping it.

Blayne (4th) helped a friend find a book.

Bernie Students Earn Positive Office Referrals

Bernie, Missouri - Bernie Elementary Positive Office Referrals were awarded this week.  These students were rewarded for their good behavior!

Faith had a great week.

Tansley offered to help her teacher look for her scissors when she lost them.

Taylor put his name on all of his papers this week.

Kinley made 100% on her math worksheet.

Mark always works hard in class and stays on task.

Back Row:

Carson always uses great manners and is a great role model for other students.

Wyatt arrives every morning and works hard to complete his morning work.

Faith is an excellent student. She cares for others and goes above and beyond.

Christopher is always polite and helpful.

Jonathan had the idea to lead his class in a prayer for his teacher who had been out for a few weeks. 

Landri saw trash in the road in the drop off line and picked it up and threw it away without being asked. 

Cody asked the school nurse if she would like for him to hold the door open for her in the cafeteria.

Bernie Elementary Students Caught Making Good Choices

Bernie, Missouri - Students at Bernie Elementary received Positive Office Referrals.  These students were caught making grood choices!!

Front Row:

Haden was focused and engaged while counting to 100 in Mrs. Mayberry's math class.

Cadence was very helpful with the sub while the teacher was gone.

Wyatt was being positive and working hard.

Cole is always such a gentleman.

Conner gave his jacket to someone who was cold at recess.

Emma and Madelynn always participate in class and do their best.

Middle Row:

Abby is always kind and helpful to her teacher and classmates.

Lindyn is a hard worker and respectful of others.

Esli was a good friend.

Gracie helped a younger sibling with his reading.

Chloe untangled the classroom headphones.

Ashtin led the class in completing morning work.

Ryan helped clean up the classroom.

Brian worked hard in computer lab.

Eryn helped a younger sibling with his reading, and she did great in art last week.

Kamden always helps pick up the computers and straighten up the laptop cart. He also was spotted helping another friend who fell behind.

Back Row:

Noah, Travis, Alex, Rylan, and Rylie worked hard in class this week.

Christopher is always smiling, friendly, and eager to work.

Cameron always has a positive attitude and works hard.

Tommy was sincere and helpful to a younger student who could have possibly been in trouble.

Bernie School Board Extends Superintendent Hicks' Contract, Meeting Minutes Approved

Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie School Board met on Monday, January 14, 2019 for a regularly scheduled board meeting.  Superintendent Dustin Hick's contract was continued through 2020/20/21 school year.

Below are the minutes from that meeting.

Board Notes: January 2019 Board of Education Meeting

The Board of Education met in regular session on Monday evening the 14th of January.

The final day for candidates filing for Director to the Board of Education will be January 15th at 5 PM. Positions up for re-election this year are Director David Mayberry and Director Zack Tanner.  (Both incumbents have filed for positions) 

Program Evaluation Personnel was approved.

The Board approved paying the bills for the month of January.

During Executive Session, Superintendent Dustin Hick’s was issued a continuance of his contract through 2020/2021.

Next regular Board of Education Meeting will be February 11, 2019 .
