The Board of Education met in regular session last evening on Monday the 12th of July.


The Tax Rate Hearing was set for 6:45 p.m. on August 9, 2021.  Program evaluations on Board Policy and Strategic Planning were approved.  


The Board approved re-appointing Tom Mickes as the school legal counsel.


The board approved re-adopting Policy 0342 and approved changes made to Policy 2670.


The board approved the Athletic Handbook as presented and approved changes made to the Staff Handbook.


The board approved purchasing furniture for the Elementary Principal Office and the Superintendent Office and also approved the Tuck Pointing and Sealing of the Annex Gym.


The board approved the financial statement and approved paying bills and replenishing petty cash.


During Executive session:


The Board approved hiring Cheryl Tischer as an Elementary Custodian.

Bernie Students Earn Positive Office Referral Awards

Bernie, Missouri - Bernie Elementary Positive Office Referrals were awarded this week.  These students were rewarded for their good behavior!

Students who earn such an honor also received a Subway Sandwich Gift Card and a POR Certificate.

These students were referred for displaying positive behavior!

Front Row:

Kannon (1st) is always volunteering to help others.

Rosie (2nd) is always willing to help others and is there for them if they need a friend. 

Haley (2nd) helped her teacher.

Annabelle (K) picked up the paper towels in the bathroom that missed the trash can without being asked. 

Jim (K) has been making good choices.

Jameson (1st) helped MS. Donna with trash this week.

Middle Row:

Taylor (3rd) was caring and helpful to her teacher.

Camden (2nd) has been doing his best, and he has been choosing reading over other station options. 

Brooks (3rd) has been so helpful in class. 

Cole (3rd)  opened the door for someone else without being asked to do so. 

Myles (1st) helped Ms. Donna with trash and lunch cleaning. 

Chloe (3rd) is always helpful and a good role model for other students. 

Eylen (3rd)  is always helpful and a good role model for other students. 

Spencer (1st) is always respectful in the hallways.
