In Loving Memory of Bob Rowe

Bob Rowe, son of the late Walter James Rowe and Dorothy Francois Rowe was born on October 7, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 74.

Mr. Rowe was a salesman at Allen Christian Buick GMC in Dexter.  He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and he had served as a voluntary fire fighter with the Dexter Fire Department for fifteen years.

He was united in marriage to Patty Ann Townsend in Dexter, on December 3, 1993.  Mrs. Rowe survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters; Teresa Rowe of Poplar Bluff,  Susan Whitlow and husband Dean of Poplar Bluff and Julia Papanicolaou and husband Costas of Poplar Bluff; by two step-sons; Derick Hux of De Soto and Travis Hux of Lee’s Summitt; by two brothers; Dale Rowe and David Rowe, both of Dexter;  by four sisters;  Margie Daniel of Collinsville, Illinois, Carol Scmidt of O’Fallon, Illinois, Eileen McConnell of Advance and Kathy Cato of Dexter;  by nine grandchildren Courtney Vinson, Deanna Ross, Amanda Whitlow, Emma Papanicolaou, Alec Papanicolaou, Finley Papanicolau, Rylie Hux, Ryese Hux, Isabella Hux, and four great-grandchildren Gracie Vinson, Rhaegan Vinson, Colby Ross, Maebry Ross.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 5:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 A. M. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

In Loving Memory of Betty A. Mangum

Betty A. Mangum, daughter of the late Henry Ambrose Creasy and Lilah Estelle Easley Creasy was born on July 21, 1931 in Corsicana, Texas and departed this life on August 6, 2016 at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 85.

Mrs. Mangum was a seamstress at Elder’s Manufacturing, a member of the New Bethel General Baptist Church, a member of the Dexter Hospital Auxilary and a resident of Dexter.

On November 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Mangum in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Mangum preceded her in death on January 2, 2009.

She is survived by one son, Michael William Mangum and wife Joanne of Dexter; by three daughters, Judy Ann Froemel of Hayward, Wisconsin, Rose Conner of Dexter and Angela Wood and husband Steven of Bloomfield; by one brother, Bobby Gene Creasy of Centerville, Tennessee; by one sister, Juanita Bewley of Pottsville, Arkansas; by eight grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Henry Creasy, Leonard Creasy and James Creasy and by two sisters, Inez Lumley and Rosalee Watkins.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery

In Loving Memory of Robert Glenn Arnold

Robert Glenn “Bob” Arnold, son of the late James Edward Arnold and Ruby Golightly Arnold was born on June 28, 1939 in Charleston, Missouri and departed this life on August 5, 2016 at the SoutheastHealth of Cape Girardeau at the age of 77.

Bob was non denominational, a major appliance repairman and a resident of Dexter.

On November 19, 1966 he was united in marriage to Janet Kinser in Dexter. Mrs. Arnold survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Michelle Hardin and fiancé Shane Pashia of Dexter and Bobbie Whitacre and husband Jason of Murphysboro, Illinois; by one sister, Lydia Betty Buckthorpe of Dexter; by five grandchildren, Tyler Robert Hardin, Dylan Keith Hardin, Hunter Kinser Hardin, Justus Whitacre and Justin Pashia and by one great-grandchild, Benjamin Platoff.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy Arnold and Charles Arnold and by three sisters, Ruth Ann Farris, Ruby Jane and Mary Grace Banks.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.

In Loving Memory of Barbara Kathleen Stearns

Barbara Kathleen Stearns, daughter of the late Cecil Sipes and Ella Brassfield Sipes, was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on January 21, 1934 and departed this life in Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on August 6, 2016 at the age of 82.
 
Mrs. Stearns was a homemaker, had worked at Brown Shoe Company of Bernie, Missouri for 27 years and later worked for Gates Rubber of Poplar Bluff, Missouri on 13 years.  She was a member of the Essex Church of Christ.
 
She was united in marriage to Walter Lindell Stearns on March 4, 1950 in Piggott, Arkansas.  Mr. Stearns preceded his wife in  death on January 19, 1995.
 
Survivors include five sons, Ronnie Stearns & wife Linda of Dexter, Missouri, Rickey Stearns & wife Betty of Dexter, Missouri, Terry Stearns & wife Cindy of Bernie, Missouri, Kenny Stearns of Farmington, Missouri and Timmy Stearns of Dexter, Missouri; by one sister, Gloria Blough of Dexter, Missouri; by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren;  also by other relatives and many friends.
 
She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by three brothers, Alvin Sipes, Bud Sipes and Joe Webster; by three sisters, Pauline Sipes Warren, Juanita Webster Mosley and Lola Jean Sipes in infancy.
 
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.  

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home with Herman Morris officiating.  

Interment will follow in Chalk Bluff Cemetery, Rural Dexter, Missouri.  

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

In Loving Memory of Rev. Charles Calvin Hanna

Rev. Charles Calvin Hanna, 85, a retired Baptist minister for over 50 years passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.

Rev. Hanna, the son of the late Charles Lindall and LaVerne C. Turner Hanna, was born Feb. 15, 1931 in Centralia, Mo. He attended Hannibal-Lagrange College in Hannibal, Mo. where he received an Associate of Arts Degree. He later attended East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Texas, where he sang in the college choir and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He also received many years of seminary extension training. Rev. Hanna served as pastor at Bloomfield First Baptist Church, Doniphan First Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church in Corning, Ark. and New Hope Baptist Church in Peace Valley, Mo. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 209 in Poplar Bluff and had also served on the Missouri Baptist Children's Home board for six years. He enjoyed working on antique clocks and playing the harmonica but his greatest passion was preaching and singing.

On Dec. 21, 1952, he married Maurine Berry in Centralia, Mo. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Melanie Jackson Stoelting and her husband, Keith Stoelting of Puxico, Mo. and Lorri Shelton and her husband, Don Shelton of Branson Mo.; two grandchildren, Nathan (Malika) Jackson and Natalie (Ben) Woodbury; two great-grandchildren, Harper Jackson and Kellan Woodbury; and three step-grandchildren, Scott Stoelting, Christy Stoelting and Shane Stoelting.
A son-in-law, Keith Jackson also preceded Rev. Hanna in death.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Dr. William Vail will officiate. The burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
