
Larry James Sneed, son of the late Clyde Sneed Sr. and Avis Crain Sneed, was born on March 30, 1940, in Painton, Missouri, and departed this life on January 20, 2025, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 84 years surrounded by his family.
Mr. Sneed was a Veteran of the United States Navy, a former trackman for Union Pacific Railroad, retiring with 33 years of service, and a resident of Dexter, Missouri. He enjoyed watching sports and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and he loved his family and grandchildren.
On March 8, 1963, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Wanda Riddle. Mrs. Sneed survives of their home in Dexter.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, James Sneed and wife Gina of Dexter, Missouri; by his daughter, Leigh Ann Williams and husband Randy of Dexter, Missouri; by seven grandchildren, Darci Sneed (Megan) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Justin Sanders of Franklin, Indiana, Steven Carrillo (Caitlin) of Essex, Missouri, Tyler Carrillo of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Allison Sneed of Dudley, Missouri, Mia Williams of Dexter, Missouri and Korbin Williams of Dexter, Missouri; and by seven great grandchildren, Aiden Sanders, Cannon Carrillo, Remington Sneed, Henley Sanders, Calista Carrillo, Harper Sanders, and Cruz Carrillo
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde Sneed Jr., Jerry Sneed, Ray Sneed, and David Sneed; and by two sisters, Rosemary Sneed and Marilyn Sneed.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
