In Memory of Wanda Lois McRoy Miller

Wanda Lois McRoy Miller, daughter of the late Cecil McRoy and the late Pete and Mary Wells, was born on October 18, 1942, in Puxico, Missouri, and departed this life on January 1, 2025, at Prairie View Nursing Home in Bloomfield, Missouri, at the age of 82 years.


Wanda was a retired caregiver and lived in Puxico for the past twenty years. She was most happy when surrounded by her family.


She is survived by three daughters, Janet (Robert) Stanczak of O’Fallon, Missouri, Donna Hill of Wappapello, Missouri, and Darla (Joe) Kennedy of Dexter, Missouri; by her son, Harold Hill of Wappapello, Missouri; by her sister, Brenda (Jesse) Drowns of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by ten grandchildren, Shannon (Stacy) Bowen, Samuel Bowen, Joe (Kerry) Kennedy, Chase (Mauri) Kennedy, Mallory (Austin) Matthews, Tim (Lindsey) Stanczak, Nicholas Stanczak, Andrew Stanczak, Katrina Hill, and Jessica Hill; by seventeen great-grandchildren, and many other cherished family members.


Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery near Puxico.


Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

Brenda Lee James, daughter of the late Ruben Adkins and Iva Doris Kiser Adkins, was born on December 6, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and departed this life on January 2, 2025, at her residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.


Mrs. James was a former Registered Nurse for Cypress Point in Dexter, Missouri.


She is survived by her son, Kerry James and wife Beth of Golden Eagle, Illinois; by her daughter, Kalli Faulkner and husband Drew of Dacula, Georgia; by her sister, Debbie Adkins-Powers of Dexter, Missouri; and by two grandchildren, Maddison Faulkner and Jessica James.


The family has requested private services.


Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Patricia Merle Kelley

Patricia Merle Kelley, age 77, of Puxico, Missouri, was born on January 10, 1947, in Charleston, Missouri to the late Richard and Merle (Spiller) Pace. She peacefully passed away on December 26, 2024, in Puxico, Missouri.

In 1982, Patricia married Clarence Kelley Sr. in Rockview, Missouri. She cherished their time together until his passing on May 22, 1996.

Throughout her life, Patricia remained a devoted Christian and spent most of her years in southeast Missouri. She found joy in various activities, including sewing, oil painting, knitting, watching Hallmark movies, fishing, and enjoying walks outdoors. Patricia held family Sunday dinners in high regard and took delight in puzzles, reading her Bible, participating in home bible studies, and celebrating her favorite holiday, Christmas.

Patricia is survived by her children: Keith Kelley of Haltom City, Texas; Gary Kelley and Donald Kelley, both of Missouri; Rebecca Alford of Gideon, Missouri; Becky Crowden of Columbia, Missouri; Theresa Powell of Jefferson City, Missouri; Cindy Kelley and Jamie Kelley, both of Jackson, Missouri. She is also survived by three brothers: Greg Pace of Jackson, Missouri; Steve Pace and Mark Pace, both of Texas; two sisters: Mary Hill and Martha Pace, both of Missouri; a niece, Cathy Bowers of Bloomfield, Missouri, four grandchildren: Brittany Thorn, Brent Thorn, Brandon Thorn, and Candace Cunningham; as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; a stepson, Robert Kelley; and a brother, Richard Pace.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11 A.M. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

In Memory of Ray Murphy

Ray Murphy of Gideon, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Missouri at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 5 days.

Ray was born on Monday, February 21, 1955 in Gideon, Missouri to Hollis Albert and Dorothy Mae Climer Murphy. Ray retired from Noranda Aluminum and was a member of Stanfield Missionary Baptist Church in Clarkton.  

On August 30, 1975, in Gideon, he was united in marriage to Carol Adams. She survives. Other survivors include, daughter Rachel Edwards and husband Cody of Bloomfield; son, Josh Murphy of Gideon; six grandchildren, Ashlynn Dunham (Ethan), Mady Mosby, Maggie Murphy, Carter Edwards, Briar Edwards and MacKenzie Edwards; three great-grandchildren, Macklynn Dunham, Peyson Murphy and Wesley Wilson; brother, Gerald Murphy and wife Beth of New Madrid; sister, Judy Davis and husband, James of Lake St. Louis and several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Dorothy Murphy and Patsy Ann Stevens and four brothers, Gene, Joe, Edward Lee and Charles Murphy. 

Family visitation will be from 5 - 6 p.m. followed by a public visitation from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Brother Vance Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri. 

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory in Malden are in charge of the arrangements.

In Memory of Terry Robinson

Terry Robinson, son to James Robinson and the late Hazel (Hamby) Robinson was born on September 23, 1955 in Dexter, Missouri and departed his life on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at his home in Wappapello, Missouri at the age of 69 years surrounded by his wife and children. 


He was united in marriage to Stephanie Bolin on October 3, 1986 in Malden, Missouri. Mrs. Robinson survivors of the home in Wappapello, Missouri.


Terry was the owner and operator of Lil D’s Bait & Tackle at Pisos Point in Wappapello. He was in maintenance for Fauercia until retirement. Terry was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed spending time outdoors.

 

Besides his wife and father, survivors include three sons, JR Robinson, Matthew (Kelli) Robinson and Dallas (MaKenzie) Robinson; two daughters, Heather (Adrien) Pawlik and Chauda Robinson; three brothers, Danny Robinson, Rick Robinson and David Robinson; a sister, Jamie Hutchinson; eight grandchildren, Ahna Robinson, Emma Robinson, Matt Robinson, Amelia Robinson, Drake Channell, Berklee Channell, Noah Pawlik, and Oaklynn Pawlik; a great-granddaughter, Calliope.


Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by  a sister, Marla Kay Robinson and his daughter, Angela Robinson. 


There will be a Celebration of Life at Dexter Elks Lodge in Dexter, MO on Saturday December 28th 11-2 pm.
