In Memory of James Franklin Wilthong

James Franklin Wilthong of Puxico, Missouri passed away on March 26, 2022 at the age of 88.

James married Glenda Elaine Weaver on January 01, 1955 in Paragould, Arkansas.

James enjoyed a full and wonderful life.  He was faithfully dedicated to his Lord Jesus Christ.  He was born and raised in Paragould, Arkansas and graduated from Greene County Tech High School.  He obtained his college degrees from Arkansas State University.  He taught, coached and was high school principal at Southland School, Cardwell and Arbyrd, Missouri.  James then settled with Elaine in Puxico, Missouri and served as superintendent of the Puxico school district for eleven years before he retired.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, nature, sports, gardening and traveling.  James served as Alderman and Mayor of Puxico, Missouri.  James served faithfully as a Member, Sunday School Teacher and Deacon at First Baptist Church of Puxico, Missouri.  He served on the Stoddard Cane Creek Baptist Association and disaster chainsaw team.   He was a member of Gideons International.  Community Service was very important to James as he served volunteering at Mingo National Wild Life Refuge, Rotary Club projects and Homecoming actives.  He served as a Rotary Club Member at Cardwell and Puxico, Stoddard County Mental Health Board, Community Relation Council at Mingo Job Core Center.  James was a Korean Veteran and member of VFW Puxico Post 7822 and American Leigon.

James is survived by his wife Elaine Wilthong; his daughter Sheryl (Dale) Hartzog of Panama City, Florida; one sister Ellen (Polie) Cameron; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lucy (Darnell) Wilthong; one brother William Wilthong and one sister Helen Hudgens.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 30, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri and Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Justin Miller of Puxico officiating. 

Internment will take place at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Paragould, Arkansas at 3:00 p.m. with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.  

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to First Baptist Church building fund or Gideons International.

In Memory of Bill Constant

Bill Constant, son of the late Fred Constant and Jewel Bolton Constant was born on January 28, 1937 in Kennett, Missouri and departed his life on Monday, March 28, 2022 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 85.

He was a former employee with Ameripride Professional Linen Supply and enjoyed spending time outdoors and with family.

On November 8, 2009 he was united in marriage to Barbara Cullum Worley in Dexter, Missouri.  Mrs. Constant survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, survivors include four sons, Billy Joe Constant and Tim Morris both of Texas; Travis Worley of Essex, Missouri, and John Worley of Arkansas; two daughters, Marcy Cornell and Tina Malone both of Dexter; one sister, Jan Waggoner of Sikeston; also, by twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.

Memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapels assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Darlene Bollinger

The Lord called Darlene Bollinger home on 03 22 2022 at the age of 92.  She was born February 22, 1930 in Sylvania, Ohio to Andrew and Dorothy (Box) Barry.

Darlene married Donald Bollinger November 20, 1948 in St Clair Shores, Michigan. They had two sons: Richard (Robin) Bollinger of Bloomfield and Douglas (Peggy) Bollinger of Dexter; seven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Richard, Johnny and Oates.

 Don, Darlene, and children lived in Michigan until 1960, when they bought a farm and moved to Missouri.

While living in Michigan, Darlene was busy raising two boys, being a cub scout leader, and cleaning houses.   After moving to Missouri, she worked many years at Elders Mfg and a shoe factory. She served as a Sunday School Teacher and Church Treasurer at Bell City General Baptist Church.

Darlene was outgoing, loving, kind, and generous.  She liked growing a variety of flowers and being outdoors. She especially loved having large family get togethers and spending time with many friends.  Many family, friends, the church, Arrowhead Campground, the attendees at Bell City Community Fish Fry’s and many more, can attest that she was a great cook.  If you went away hungry from her table, it was your fault, because it was usually like having a feast.

Darlene will be very missed.

Visitation will be held on Weds. March 30, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Bob Bradford officiating. 

Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance.

In Memory of Timothy Lee Harris

Timothy Lee Harris, son of the late Billy Ray Harris and Alma “Jean” Coatney Harris, was born on December 9, 1978, in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on March 27, 2022, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 43 years.

Mr. Harris was a former employee of Tyson, in Dexter. He liked fishing and the cardinals. Tim loved his son Ethan, they enjoyed playing video games and UNO together, and they enjoyed eating Mexican food together. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Ethan James Michael Harris of Dexter, and many family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

A memorial service will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel at 5:00 p.m.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Thomas Anthony Hyslop

Thomas Anthony Hyslop, son of Dennis Hyslop and Melba Booker Pate, was born on May 11, 1971, in Dexter, Missouri, and departed this life on March 26, 2022, at Southeast Health of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 50 years.

Mr. Hyslop was a truck driver for PTI and Eubanks Trucking and a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri. He enjoyed woodworking, rebuilding old cars, heavy metal music, and playing the guitar. He loved spending time playing with this pit bull, Sissy.

He is survived by his father, Dennis Hyslop and wife Susan of Bloomfield; by his mother, Melba Pate of Bloomfield; by his son, Dustin Walker and wife Krystal of Bloomfield; and by his step-sister, Kasie Delay of Dexter.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Christy Sunshine Hyslop.

No services are planned.
