
Shirley Louise McGowan, daughter of the late William Joseph Nichols and Laura Rose Hendley Nichols in Flint, Michigan on May 20, 1940 and departed this life at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on June 28, 2020 at the age of 80.
Mrs. McGowan was a homemaker, had been a foster parent for many years and was of Church of Christ Faith. She was a resident of Bernie.
She was united in marriage to Jerry Don McGowan in Jackson, Mississippi on February 23, 1957. Mr. McGowan survives in their home in Bernie.
Other Survivors include two sons, Justin McGowan of Dexter, Missouri and Joey McGowan of Bernie, Missouri; by two daughters, Jill McGowan and Mary Beth Johnson both of Bernie, Missouri; by one sister, Sherian Todd of Bernie, Missouri; by fourteen grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death other than by her parents, by one son, Jed Marc McGowan; by five sisters, Virginia Appling, Lavonne Nichols, Cora Wood, Linda Duncan and Gina Parton.

Graveside Services will be conducted at Bernie Cemetery, Bernie, Missouri on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 starting at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow.

Robert Lee Young Jr. also known to his friends and family as Bob, Bobby, Dad and “GrandBob” died peacefully on June 27, 2020 surrounded by his family at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Facility in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 72.
Bob was born on September 12, 1947 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was the youngest of three children born to Robert Lee Young Sr. and Welta Marie Adams Young. He is survived by two sisters Margaret Cox & husband Dennis and Linda Quinn & husband Jerry all of Dexter, Missouri.
Bob married Kimbrala “Kim” Hester Young on April 4, 1980 in Bernie, Missouri. Besides his wife Kim, Bob is survived by his son Chad Young & wife Brandy of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina and his two daughters, Tammy Boyle & husband Darren of Bernie, Missouri and Emilee Camp & husband Brian of Dumas, Mississippi. Daughter-in-law Gloria Young of Bernie, Missouri. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Dylan Young, Jake Young, Lindsey Young and Jesse Johnson, by four step-grandchildren, Sydney Smithee, Kyle Smithee, Jadyn Smithee and Bailey Boyle Tinsley along with six great-grandchildren, Jett Brotz, Twins, Cole and Brooks Johnson, Twins, Maisyn and Eleanor Tinsley and Emmett Tinsley. He is also survived by an uncle, many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest son, Todd Robert Young.
Bob was a retired farmer in the Bernie Area. He was fun-loving, a hard worker and enjoyed raising cattle.
Bob was a Christian and attended the Bernie General Baptist Church.

Ronnie Edwards, son of the late Leo Edwards and Theresa Larsen Edwards, was born on November 29, 1943 in Dexter, Missouri, and departed this life on June 24, 2020 at his residence in Bloomfield, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.
Mr. Edwards was a former farmer and he attended the Cowboy Church in Puxico, Missouri.
He is survived by two sons, Ron Edwards II (Tammy) of Dexter and Parish Edwards of St. Peters; by his sister, Charlyn Holt of Dexter; by three grandchildren, Chelsea Edwards, Justin Duncan, and Alan Duncan; and by four great-grandchildren, Gracie Edwards, Rhonnie Hodges, Mason Hodges, and Lacy Duncan.
Private funeral services will be conducted at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, June 26, 2020. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Alvin T. Gibson, son of the late Tom Gibson and Virgie Mae Lanning LaRue, was born on April 13, 1948 in Grayridge, Missouri, and departed this life on June 23, 2020 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 72 years.
Mr. Gibson was a former foreman for International Shoe/Brown Shoe in Sikeston Missouri. He attended the Olive Branch Church and was a resident of Matthews Missouri.
He is survived by his son Earl Gibson and wife Margo of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Michael Gibson of Dexter, Missouri; by his sister, Donnie Jeanie Warren and husband Jon of New Bloomfield, Missouri; by his grandson, Brandon Gibson of Louisville, Kentucky, and by his great-granddaughter, Sophia Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by three brothers, Orville Gibson, Edward Gibson, and Wesley Gibson; by five sisters, Goldie Lafferty, Ada Harper, Sylvia Gibson, Dorothy Dyson, and Evelyn Davis; and by four siblings in infancy.
A private memorial service will be planned for a later date.

William Darrell Grimm, son of Shirley Ann Webb DeVore and the late William Eugene Grimm, was born on November 13, 1967 in Wurzberg, Germany and departed this life on June 17, 2020 in Laredo, Texas at the age of 52 years.
Mr. Grimm was a truck driver. He attended the First Christian Church in Carthage, Missouri and was a resident of Carthage. He was a loving son, brother, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his mom, Shirley DeVore of Bradenton, Florida, by four sons, Stephan Grimm and wife Jessica of Hazelwood, Missouri, Branden Grimm and wife Miranda of Hanover, Maryland, Kenneth Grimm of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Kyler Grimm of Stanley, North Dakota; by two daughters, Harley Croney and husband Brent of Stanley, North Dakota and Mercedes Webb and husband Andrew of Tioga, North Dakota; by his sister, Kelly Grimm of Bradenton, Florida; by his step-brother, Rusty DeVore of Dexter, Missouri; by his step-sister, Sebrina Ryan and husband Mike of Gatewood, Missouri; and by ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Grimm; and by his step-brother, Bill DeVore.
A private memorial service will be conducted at Webb Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
