In Memory of Floyd Adams
Floyd Lee Adams, son of the late Walter Adams and Vivian Fulkerson Adams was born on July 25, 1945 in Morehouse, Missouri and departed this life on Monday, November 27, 2017 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 72.

Mr. Adams was a Veteran of the United States Army.  He was a tool maker for General Motors and attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri.

On April 13, 1979, he was united in marriage to Janet Osborne in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Mrs. Adams survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Floyd Adams Jr. and wife Linda of Wingate, NC and Wilford Adams and wife Amanda of Three Rivers, MI; by three brothers, Loyd Adams of Morehouse, MO, Homer Adams, Mendon, MI, Carl Adams Wimberley of Gonzales, LA; by two sisters, Virginia Young of Cypress, TX and Barbara Faye Gordon of Crestview, FL; by seven grandchildren, Jennifer Davies, Samuel Adams, Jonathan Adams, Chelsea Weiss, Michael Weiss, Katie Weiss and Susan Weiss; by one great-grandchild, Eastin Salter-Weiss.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Alvin Gene Adams, Walter Owen Adams, and Paul Alford Adams; by one sister, Violetta McKnight.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM.  Services will be conducted on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Shane Mallard officiating.  Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Thelma Young
Thelma Young, daughter of the late Edgar Williams and Gertrude Blagg Williams was born on December 12, 1922 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on November 28, 2017 at the Mercy Hospital in Festus, Missouri at the age of 94.

Mrs. Young was formerly employed as a housekeeper for the Dexter Memorial Hospital for 15 years.  She was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church and a former resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Walter Young in June, 1939 at Powe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1968.

Survivors include; one son, Donald Young and wife Dorothy of Hillsboro, MO; one daughter, Brenda Carter and husband Jack of DeSoto, MO; by two sisters, Velma Williams of Dallas, TX and Ruby Swafford of Hendersonville, NC; by eight grandchildren; by fifteen great-grandchildren and by five great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was deceased by one son, Dennis Young; by one brother, Marvin Williams; by two sisters, Edna Black and Beatrice Adams; by one grandchild, Steven Young.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral home on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. 

Services will be conducted on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rich Grayson officiating. 

Interment will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.

In Memory of John Cecil Bazarian
John Cecil Bazarian, son of the late John H. Bazarian and Barbara Ann McCollen Bazarian, was born on March 19, 1957 in Boston, Massachusetts and departed this life on November 25, 2017 at the SoutheastHealth in Cape Girardeau at the age of 60.

Mr. Bazarian was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as an electrician and also worked restoring classic cars.

On June 6, 1975 he was united in marriage to Janice Gaines in Dexter, Missouri. She survives of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Shaun Bazarian of Dexter, Missouri; by one sister, Stacey Bazarian of Blacksburg, Virginia; and by one grandson, Dylan Bazarian.

A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Joe Payne officiating.

In Memory of Lee Roy Taylor
Lee Roy Taylor son of the late Charlie Collins Taylor and Florence Melissalee Taylor was born on January 18, 1929 in Matthews, Missouri and departed this life on November 18, 2017 at the Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 88.

Mr. Taylor was a Stock Room Attendant at General Motors in Hazelwood, Missouri.

On January 5, 1947 he was united in marriage to Rose Mary Chanley in New Madrid, Missouri.  Mrs. Taylor survives of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, David Allen Taylor of Kirkwood, Missouri and Charles Lee Taylor of Crestwood, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Christina Ann Taylor, Melinda Marie Taylor and Daniel Lee Taylor.

He is preceded in death by his parents and by three brothers, Charles Taylor, James Taylor and Louis Taylor.

Visitation was at the Rainey Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. 

Services were conducted on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:30 PM at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie. 

Interment followed at the Bernie Cemetery.

In Memory of Verna Reed
Verna E. (Graff) Reed, 80, of Dexter, Missouri passed away on November 27, 2017 in Sikeston, Missouri.

Verna was born on July 3, 1937 in Perry County, Missouri, daughter of Vincent E. and Mary E. Graff.  She was married to Earl F. Reed on June 21, 1958 in Perryville, Missouri.

Verna worked many years in secretarial and office management, retail sales, and cafeteria management.  She loved vegetable and flower gardening, keeping a beautiful yard, traveling, spending time with her family and being a grandmother.  She most recently lived in Dexter, but also lived in Cape Girardeau, Kentucky, Texas and Florida, a state she greatly loved.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter.

She is survived by her husband, sons Michael (Darlene) Reed of Sikeston and Mark (Madrigail) Reed of Cape Girardeau, and grandson Seth Reed of Cape Girardeau, granddaughter, Katherine Leonard of Naples, Florida and grandson, William Leonard of Sikeston, two sisters, Ella Kiefer and Esther May DuBois, both of Perryville, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 half-brother and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter at 9:00 a.m. on November 30th. 

Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Father David Dohongne and Father William Hennecke officiating.  Burial will be in the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield. 

In Lieu of flowers, the family ask for memorials to be given to the Missouri Veterans Home, 2400 Veterans Memorial Drive, Cape Girardeau, Mo 63701 and Kenny Rogers Children’s Center, 300 Floyd Avenue, Sikeston, Mo, 63801 and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas PI, Memphis, TN, 38105.
