Clarence Parks, Jr. was born on May 23, 1930   in Piggott, Arkansas to the late Claude Parks & Dessie Hillyer Parks Brasher. 

He departed this life on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Ridgeview Living Community  in Malden, Missouri at the age of 87 years 5 months and 21 days. 

Clarence Parks, Jr. had been employed at a Charcoal factory in Van Buren and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was united in marriage to Ruby Jean Watson on November 28, 1950 in Arkansas. She preceded him in death on Thursday, September 29, 2016. 

His  survivors include five sons Carl Parks & wife, Gina of Cape Fair, Missouri, Mark Parks of Malden, Victor Parks & wife, Tammy of Bernie, Matthew Parks of Malden and Paul Parks of Malden. 

Two Daughters: Marsha Clubbs & husband, Henry of Bernie and Star Watkins & husband, Jerry of Lilbourn, 19 Grandchildren and 28 Great-grandchildren and Step-sister: Carrie Chumbley of Jonesboro, Arkansas. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 1 brother and 5 sisters. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden from 6-8 P.M. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Reverend Ken Hare officiating. 

Interment will be in the Rosewood First Addition Cemetery in Malden.

Norma Owens, daughter of the late Charles Edward Sheppard and Wanda Lucille Burns Sheppard was born on June 29, 1942 in Butler County, Missouri and departed this life on November 13, 2017 at the Monticello House in Jackson, Missouri at the age of 75 years.

Norma was of the Baptist Faith and baptized at an early age.  She graduated from Lone Hill School in Lone Hill, Missouri. Norma work as a river boat cook and retired from American Commercial Barge Lines in 2002.  She enjoyed being with her family, fishing, an occasional trip to the casino and traveling.  Norma never met a stranger and loved to play practical jokes. 

On October 26, 1958 she was united in marriage to C.M. Owens and to this union five daughters were born.  Mr. Owens preceded her in death in 1999.

Survivors include five daughters, Lydia Bohnert (William) of Perryville, Missouri, Lucinda Owens of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Lorie Williamson of Corning, Arkansas, Lucille Wright (Ronnie) of Scott City, Missouri, and LaDonna Sappington (Gary) of Jackson, Missouri;  by two brothers, Jerry Sheppard of Clarkton, Missouri and Richard Sheppard of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; three sisters, Ruthann Davis of Fairdealing, Missouri, Bonnie Burris and Karen Fowler both of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; also by sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Sheppard and Sammy Sheppard; by two sisters, Charlene Marlow and Debbie Sheppard; by one great-grandson, Tayshon David Matthews; also by fur babies Roscoe and Willie.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter. 

Memorial may be made to Southeast Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.  

Myrna Marian Kidd, daughter of the late Harley Williams and Oma Medlock Williams was born on February 12, 1933 in Flint, Michigan and departed this life on November 13, 2017 at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 84.

Myrna was the former operator of Children’s Daycare in Dexter.

On November 29, 1949, she was united in marriage to John T. Kidd in Dexter, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on December 21, 1973.

Survivors include: one son, Troy Kidd of Springfield, Mo; by two daughters, Dawn Joseph of Bonne Terre, Mo, Linda Stovall and husband Steve of Lilbourn, Mo; by three sisters, Leta Kenna  and Susy Hoosier both of Bloomfield, Mo, Lois Robinson of Marble Hill, Mo; by eight grandchildren, Amy Owens and husband Brian of Park Hills, Mo, Jerrad Joseph of Omaha, Nebraska, John Boothe and James Boothe of Springfield, Mo; Sarah Leyenaar and husband Tim and John Ellis and wife Savannah of Jonesboro, AR, Sam Stovall and wife Christina of Sikeston, Mo, Jennifer Hanson and husband James of Saint John New Brunswick, Canada; by twelve great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Dan Williams, Dale Williams, Bill Williams and Paul Williams; by three sisters, Mary Bell, Rebecca Williams and Sarah Hewitt; by two grandchildren, Scott Joseph and Evan Joseph.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. 

Services will be conducted on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel. 

Interment will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.

Summer Learue, daughter of Cathie Harmon Galloway and Gary Galloway of Dexter was born on October 4, 1991 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Southeast Health Care of Stoddard County Emergency Room in Dexter at the age of 26 years.

Summer was an employee of World Finance Service in Dexter and a resident of Dexter. She was a loving and caring person.  She would always put others before herself and was always there when anyone needed her.  The most important thing in her life was her children.

Besides her parents, survivors include her fiancé, Coty Wilson of Dexter; by one daughter, Ochean Learue of Dexter; four sons, Collin Dobbs, Ashton Dobbs, Camdon Dobbs, and Jaxson Wilson all of Dexter; two brothers, Colton Galloway and Dakota Galloway of Dexter; by five sisters, Autumn Day, Cierra Whittley, Montana Davison, Amanda Meppiel all of Dexter, and Britney Learue of St. Louis, Missouri; by maternal grandparents, Cathie and Gordon Greene and Larry Harmon all of Dexter; paternal grandmother, Yvonne Pool of Hayti, Missouri; also by many nieces and nephews. 

Summer was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Freeman Carter.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 15, 2017. 

Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Mike Kohlbaker officiating. 

Memorials may be made to the Bank of Advance Summer Learue children’s fund in care of Cathie Galloway. 

“Sue” Sula Fay Rinehart Alcorn, daughter of the late Claude Rinehart and Jewell Atkinson Rinehart was born on February 14, 1933 in Houston, Arkansas and departed this life on November 12, 2017 at the Bloomfield Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age 83.

Mrs. Alcorn was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, sewing and crafting.  Her greatest love was gambling.

On May 2, 1984, she was united in marriage to Fay Alcorn.  Mr. Alcorn survives of the home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Besides her husband; she is survived by three sons, Jimmy Johnson of Evansville, Illinois, Bill Johnson, and John Bird of Pflugerville, Texas; by three daughters, Karen Rasmussen of Grand Junction, Colorado, Sue Gore of Santa Maria, California and Twila Wheelock of Meridian, Idaho; by three brothers, Jerry and Max Rinehart both of Bloomfield, Missouri and J E. Rinehart of Hanford, California; by two sisters, Cora Kunkle and Lillie Denny both of Bloomfield, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Bird; two brothers, Coleman and Bob Rinehart; one sister, Sadie Barber.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.  Interment will follow at the North Antioch Cemetery.
