Willeadean Haynes

Willeadean Haynes, daughter of the late William Thomas Huddleston and Oma Jordan Huddleston, was born on June 6, 1941 in Gray Ridge, Missouri and departed this life on December 3, 2015 at SoutheastHEALTH in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 74.

 

Mrs. Haynes had worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri and was a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri.

 

On December 26, 1958, she was united in marriage to James Haynes at Bloomfield, Missouri.  Mr. Haynes survives of the home.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Keith Haynes of Bloomfield, Missouri and James Haynes of Dexter, Missouri; by one sister, Dorsey McGuirt of Warren Springs, Arkansas; by five grandchildren, Tracey Travis, Angela Haynes, Ashley Corlew, Melissa Noles and Amanda Haynes; and by five great-grandchildren, Mallory Travis, Lane Bostic, Gaven Bostic, Allie Corlew and Eli Corlew.

 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Haynes; and by two brothers, Denzel Huddleston and Glenn Huddleston.

 

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. 

 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. James Malloy officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Jerry Don Bennett, Sr.

Jerry Don Bennett, Sr., son of the late Byrtle Bennett and Emma T. Lankford Bennett, was born on June 27, 1945 in Qulin, Missouri and departed this life on November 30, 2015 at Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 70.

Mr. Bennett was a veteran of the National Guard and a resident of Dexter, Missouri.  He was an avid fisherman and loved to deet hunt.  He could be found most of the time relaxing at Kentucky Lake. 

On February 2, 1969, he was united in marriage to Donna J, Bennett in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  Mrs. Bennett survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jerry Bennett, Jr. of Dexter, Missouri; by one daughter, Jennifer Bennett of Dexter, Missouri; by two brothers, Billy J. Bennett of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and John D. Bennett of Paragould, Arkansas; by two sisters, Junell Knight of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Linda K. Palmer of Crawfordville, Florida; and by two grandchildren, Chelsea and Hannah. 

A memorial service will be conducted Friday, December 4, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Brother Calvin Buehler officiating.

Geneva Margaret Baker
Geneva Margaret Baker of Dexter, daughter of the late William and Pearl Dowdy Ellis, was born near Essex, Missouri on February 15, 1930, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on December 3, 2015, at the age of 85 years, 9 month and 19 days.

She lived her life in the Essex and Dexter area. She had worked at the Professional Linen in Dexter before retiring. She was of the Baptist Faith.

She was first married to Jessie Scroggins and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1973. She later married Buford Baker and he also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Barry Scroggins of Allen, Texas and Garry Scroggins of Dexter, Missouri; two daughters, Sandy Scroggins and Marilyn Scroggins both of Dexter, Missouril; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Edwin Ellis of Parma, Missouri; and one sister Norma Hoskins of Morehouse, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one son, Terry Scroggins, three brothers, Paul, Bill and Dale Ellis and one sister, Daisy Breece.

Friends may call on Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Amos Johnson of Sikeston officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Delmer Lynn Becker

Delmer Lynn Becker, son of the late Delmer Lee Becker and Sybil Louise Malugen Becker, was born on April 27, 1947 in Portageville, Missouri and departed this life at his residence in Bernie, Missouri on December 1, 2015 at the age of 68.

Mr. Becker retired from Walmart working in building maintenance.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1966 to 1972.

On September 10, 1966, he was united in marriage to Karen Jane Nichols.  Mrs. Becker survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Steven Becker and his wife Bobbi of Advance, Missouri; by three brothers Dan Becker of Bonnie Lake Washington, Charles Becker of Elko, Nevada and Fred Becker of Elko, Nevada; by one sister, Alma Gradick of Elko, Nevada; and by three grandchildren, Logan Becker, Colton Becker and Cathina Becker. 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles Becker.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Eric Shrum officiating. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Glenda Metcalf
Glenda Metcalf, daughter of the late James Silas & Allie Virginia Latham Churchill, was born in Caglesville, Arkansas on March 18, 1930, and passed away at the Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri on November 21, 2015, at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 28 days.

Mrs. Metcalf had lived in Bloomington, California for many years and moved to Essex, Missouri 20 years ago. She retired from teaching after 40 years, she had taught elementary school and had been a Sunday School teacher for 30 years at the Bloomington Nazarene Church.

She was married to Howard Glenn Metcalf in Bloomington, California.

Surviving are her husband, Howard Glenn Metcalf of Bloomington, California; three sons, Randall Metcalf and Jonathan Metcalf both of Bloomington, California, James Metcalf of Essex, Missouri; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her special twin sister, Wanda Morgan of Essex, Missouri. Other relatives and friends survive.

She was preceded in death by nine brothers.

Friends may visit from on Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.
