The Dexter Bearcats open the season on the road Friday night with their new coach Chad Jamerson. They lost to the Scott City Rams last year by a score of 27-6.
Scott City has won the last two meetings, but the Bearcats are up to the challenge this week.
Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m.
Scott City will continue their tradition of the Green Up Game. The Rams raise money each year for organ donation in honor of former player Dominic Hooper, who died in an ATV accident in February of 2014 after his senior football season.

Sikeston, MO - The Lady Bearcats volleyball team went 9-0 at the Sikeston Volleyball jamboree on Wednesday, August 24, 2022

"This is our first year to play in a Jamboree and I appreciate Sikeston for letting us us join their Jamboree this year," commented head volleyball coach Starla Pulley. "The girls have been working hard and it was good to see them in a game like situation. They have been putting in a tremendous amount of effort."
The Jamboree also allowed the volleyball team to see some of the things they can do better.
"We talked about not settling, always expecting more from from yourself and your teammates," continued Pulley. "I felt the girls had a lot of good energy and communication during the Jamboree."
"We have a great group of girls, whether they are on the court or on the bench, they are in it and cheering on their teammates. That is a very important part to having a successful team."
