DHS Wrestling Takes a Loss Against St. Clair at Park Hills

Park Hills, Missouri - The Dexter Wrestling Team took on a great opponent at Park Hills on Thursday, January 4, 2018 when they were defeated by St. Clair 43-30.

'I thought overall we wrestled OK, could tell it was the first time that we competed after the break," commented Dexter coach James Sneed. "Need to keep improving and get our conditioning back to where it was."

Bulldogs ranked first in the state with 5 individually state ranked wrestlers: Dalton Thompson ranked third in the state 120 pounds, Jason Landing ranked first in the state 132 pounds, Ryan Herman ranked first in the state 152 pounds, Aaron Herman ranked first in the state 195 pounds and Josh Richards ranked first in the state 220 pounds.

2018 Van Buren Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament

Van Buren, Missouri - The 2018 Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament is slated for January 8th, 11th, and 13th.

Seeds are No. 1 Dexter, No. 2 Van Buren, No. 3 Liberty, No. 4 East Carter, No. 5 Clearwater, No. 6 Dexter (Freshmen), No. 7 East Carter (Freshmen), No. 8 Greenville.

Schedule: Monday, January 8th

4:30 p.m.  #1 Dexter vs #8 Greenville

5:45 p.m.  #3 Liberty vs #6 Dexter Freshmen

7:00 p.m. #4 East Carter vs #5 Clearwater

8:15 p.m. #2 Van Buren vs #7 East Carter Freshmen

On Thursday, January 11th the semifinals are at 4:30 p.m., 5:45 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:15 p.m.

7th place game will be on Saturday, January 13th at 4:00 p.m., Consolation game at 5:15 p.m., 3rd Place game at 6:30 p.m. and Championship game at 7:45 p.m.

Cost of admission is $3.00 per adult and $1.00 per student.  No passes accepted.

Lady Cats Beat East Carter, Play Kennett on Tuesday in Lady Royal Christmas Classic

Broseley, Missouri - The #1 seeded Lady Cats of Dexter demolished the #16 seeded East Carter High School Lady Redbirds.

Chaylea Mosby, who missed the last three games and almost two weeks of practice because of a minor head injury, tallied a game-high 33 points for the Lady Cats improving their record to 7-2 for the 2017-2018 season.

Dexter recorded 31 points in the first quarter holding the Lady Redbirds to just 4 points.  At the half it was 61 - 14.  Five Lady Cats finished in double digits.

Hannah Thurmon finished with 16 points. She recently signed to play basketball with Three Rivers College upon graduation from dexter senior high school.

Maycie Martin scored 17 points.

Natalie Sitze scored all of her 10 points in the third quarter.

Rylee Allen was the fifth Bearcat to score in double figures with 10 total points.
