
Dexter, MO - The Track and Field Team honored their seniors at Charles Bland Stadium during a recent track meet.
Lucas Alday is the son of Jay Alday.
He has been a member of the varsity football and track and field team for two years.
His future plans are to attend college and compete in track and field.
As a member of the track team, his most memorable moment at DHS is teaching all these young guys to be better than I am.

Class 4 District 1 Baseball seeds and bracket have been released. The Kennett Indians have earned the #1 seed with a record in regular season of 16-3.
Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau) has received the #2 seed followed by #3 Dexter, #4 Fredericktown, and #5 Doniphan.
Notre Dame is 11-9 on the season. Dexter is 9-12. Fredericktown's record is 8-9 and doniphan is 7-10.
#4 Fredericktown will face #5 Doniphan on May 14th at 2 p.m.
#1 Kennett will play the winner of the Fredericktown/Doniphan game on May 16th at 4 p.m.
#2 Notre Dame will face #3 Dexter on May 16th at 6 p.m.
Championship will be on May 18th at 5 p.m.
Games will all be played at Indian Park in Kennett.

2022 SEMO Conference All-Tournament Baseball Team was announced on Wednesday and in honor of the late Kyle Smith, Sports Editor for the Dexter Statesman, the first ever Kyle Smith Tournament MVP Award. Caden Bogenpohl of Jackson received the award. Smith passed away on March 12, 2022 while cover the Bernie Mules basketball team at the Final Four Tournament in Springfield, Missouri.

Dexter, MO - Sikeston, Notre Dame, and Saxony Lutheran competed at Dexter's only home match this year on Wednesday, April 27th at Hidden Trails Country Club. Dexter won with a total of 161. It was also senior night for the Bearcats.
Dylan Sitze, DHS senior, earned a top finish and medaled with a score of 38.
"Today was our best weather day yet," stated head golf coach Eric Sitze. "Glad the seniors had a good day to play!"
"We didn't play our best, but not bad, continued Sitze. "The kids did a good job grinding it out after some bad holes."
