2022 DHS Sports Senior Night Featuring Cy Worley

Dexter, MO - The Dexter High School Golf Team hosted their only home match in 2022 and recognized their seniors. 

Cy Worley is the son of Clete and Jill Worley.

He has participated in golf three of his four years in high school.  The only year he missed was due to Covid-19 when school was dismissed in March 2020, but he never stopped practicing.

Cy is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Pep Club.

His future plans are to play golf at Mineral Area College.

His favorite memory was when he was 6 years old, he played his first BIG tournament at Crab Orchard Country Club and won with his dad as his caddy.

2022 DHS Senior Sports Night Featuring Matthew Hardin

Dexter, MO - The Dexter High School Golf Team hosted their only home match in 2022 and recognized their seniors.

Matthew Hardin is the son of Steve and Melana Hardin.

The only things in life he loves is golf and duck hunting!

He has played three of four years in high school.  Due to Covid-19 the 2020 season was cut when school was dismissed for the year; however he never stopped playing and practicing.

His most memorable moment was when he hit a hole-in-one in practice during the 2022 season!

Dexter, MO - The Dexter High School Golf Team hosted their only home match in 2022 and recognized their seniors. 

Dylan Sitze is the son of Eric and Delisa Sitze.

He is a member of the golf team, baseketball team, Sr. Beta Club, Student Council, Chamber Choir, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

He missed one year of golf because of Covid-19 when Dexter Schools dismissed in March 2020. He played three years of golf and medaled at the State MSHSAA Golf Tournament his freshman year.

Dylan signed to play golf for Evangel University upon graduation from Dexter High School.

His favorite memory was medaling at state.

Miller McLaughlin is the son of Ryan and Chasity McLaughlin.

He is a member of the golf team Sr. Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Top 10 Percent.

His favorite memories during the golf season was all the fun car rides with his fellow athletes.

Dexter Softball Conquers Woodland in Extra Innings

The Dexter Bearcats secured the lead late in the game in an 11-9 victory over the Woodland Lady Cardinals on Thursday evening.

The game was tied at nine when the Lady Bearcats batted in the top of the eighth when Lexi Laramore drew a walk, scoring one run.

Woodland Lady Cardinals got things moving in the first inning, when they scored on a stolen base during Rhodie Long's at bat.  She tripled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Both Woodland and Dexter blistered the bats collecting ten and six hits respectively.

Dexter tallied three runs in the fifth inning.  The offensive firepower was led by Molly simmons, Kinley Chappell, and Kaylee Hazel, all driving in runs in the frame.

The Lady Cardinals scored four runs in the sixth inning.  The big inning came thanks to a fielder's choice by Maddie Long and an error on a ball put in play by Sara Koenig.

In the top of the 7th inning, the Lady 'Cats tied things up at nine when Laramore singled on a 1-1 count creating a run.

Amelia Jenkins pitched Dexter to another victory.  She lasted eight innings, allowing six hits and nine runs while striking out eleven players.

Lilley Long took the loss for the Lady Cardinals  She lasted five innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out four.

Dexter tallied ten hits.  Chappell and Laramore each managed multiple hits.

Mallary Barks wen 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Cardinals in hits.

Dexter (9-7) play at Caruthersville on Friday evening.

Woodland (8-7) will host the Puxico Lady Indians on Friday evening.
