Dexter, MO - Southwest Elementary held their annual Kindergarten Graduation on Monday, May 23, 2022 at the Bearcat Event Center.
One hundred fifty five Students entered the BEC with "Pomp and Circumstance" playing in the background.
Neil Durner, Pastor of Worship and Young Adults, First Baptist Church of Dexter performed the Invocation.
Students, Logan Lee and Liam Brotz, lead the audience and graduates in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Principal, Jacinda DeWitt, gave the welcome then the first section of students walked to the stage to sing "Thank You" by Patty Shukla and directed by Amber Duley.
Class of Mrs. Cecil, Mrs. Kaci Cooper, Mrs. Macey Cooper, and Mrs. Horton crossed the stage receiving their diplomas.
A Class of 2034 Kindergarten Memories video was played on the big screen. Students laughed and pointed to their pictures.
The next group of students came to the stage and sang "One Small Voice" by Jack Hartmann and directed by Amber Duley.
The diplomas for classes of Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Fortner, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Tanner, and Mrs Ward were then handed out to the little graduates.
Durner then gave the Benediction and the all awaited "You've Got a Friend in Me" written by Randy newman was played as the student walked out and ready for first grade.

Dexter, Missouri - Southwest Elementary in Dexter honored Second Grade students with Positive Office Referral certificates.
This award was presented to students who consistently showed the 3R's RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN.
Each student received a certificate and a FREE Taco from Taco Bell.

Dexter, MO - The Dexter High School honored the graduating Class of 2022 at the Bearcat Event Center on Friday, May 20th. Bailey Whitaker was named Valedictorian and Rachel Lin was named Salutatorian.
Rachel Lin is the daughter of Min Lin.
She is the Student Body President, Future Business Leaders of America President, Sr. Beta Club Secretary, Class Representative of HOSA, National honor Society Treasurer, FCCLA Historian, a member of the Pep Club, Art Club, the varsity football cheer squad, the varsity basketball cheer squad and the varsity track & field team.
Her future plans are to attend the University of Missouri - Columbia and major in health professions. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field.
Bailey Whitaker is the daughter of Cecil and Cindy Whitaker.
She has been involved in the Pep Club, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Sr. Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council HOSA, National Society of High School Scholars, and National Honor Society.
Her future plans are to attend Arkansas State University - Jonesboro and major in Biology. She plans to become a Physician's Assistant (PA).

Dexter, MO - The Dexter High School held their National Beta Club Induction on Monday, May 16, 2022.
The outgoing officers are Abigail Dement (President), Andie Kruse (Vice President), Rachel Lin (Secretary), and Berkley Moreland (Treasurer).
The new 2022 - 2023 Beta Officers are Madison Glaus (President), Jayci Holcomb (Vice President), Lexie Bennett (Secretary) and Molly Simmons (Treasurer.
Each of the new inductees stood together and stated the Beta Pledge, "I do solemnly declare that I shall always strive to hold fast to the principles of honesty; to endeavor constantly to maintain an admirable reputation; and to develop the foundation of character, service and leadership in my life. I also pledge to cooperate with fellow members of The National Beta Club. i will encourage an individual responsibility to improve my school, community, state, and antion. I will defend a high standard of morality and join with my club to contribute to the improvement of our entire student body."
