2019-2020 Southwest Elementary 2nd Grade School Supply List

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Public Schools will have their first day of classes on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 for grades kindergarten - twelve and will be a full day.
There is a change in this year's calendar with the kindergarten students starting their first day the same day as grades 1-12. Also it will be a full day for all students.
Registration will be held at the Bearcat Event Center on Tuesday, August 13th from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Southwest Elementary has released their 2019-2020 suggested school supply list for 2nd Grade.
Southwest 2nd Grade Supply List 2019-2020
2 pkg. Number 2 pencils (yellow)
1 school supply box (no locks)
2 boxes 24 crayons
1 bottle white glue
1 box gallon ziploc bags-boys
1 box quart ziploc bags-girls
2 pkgs. dry erase markers (black)
1 eraser for dry erase or an old black sock
2 highlighters
1 ruler (no snap bracelet rulers)
1 backpack
1 pkg of erasers or 1 big pink eraser
1 pair scissors
1 pencil sharpener (with shavings container)
1 composition notebook (spirals get squished)
1 two pocket folder
1 large pkg glue sticks
2 or more boxes of tissues
1 bottle of hand sanitizer
1 container or more of baby wipes or Clorox wipes
HOPE International will once again host a Back 2 School Bash on Wednesday, August 14th at the Bearcat Event Center from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The DEADLINE to Register is July 5th! YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE by clicking HERE.

1 package no. 2 Pencils (regular size)
Ticonderoga & USA Gold Pencils are a bit more expensive but they last longer so in the long run they are better.
2 boxes of 24 colors (preferably Crayola brand)
2 Packages of Dry Erase Markers (black and at least one other color)
2 Highlighters
1 Backpack
1 or more pkgs. of Pencil Top Erasers and/or Large Pink Eraser
1 Fiskar Sharp Point Scissors (not plastic)
2 Packs of Glue Sticks (any size)
2 or more Large Boxes of Tissues
Girls - 1 Container of Clorox Wet Wipes
Boys – 3 pack of Baby Wipes
Girls – Ziploc Quart Size Bags

Three Dexter Artists Earn Top Honors in Art Competition

Dexter, Missouri - Three talented Dexter High School art students made this year's top 20 finalists to the 8th Annual Congressional Art Competition.
Jillian Avery and Savannah Gourley both had multiple pieces in the top 20 chosen pieces. Addison Green finished 2nd in Drawing.
Here are the artists who placed at the 19th Annual Juried Regional High School Art Exhibit at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum.
