The varsity football team travels to Caruthersville for a 7:00 pm game.  Player bus leaves today at 4:00 pm and the cheerleaders will leave at 5:00 pm.

The varsity volleyball team will play in the Perryville tournament tomorrow.  Their first game is at 8:30 am.  Player bus leaves at 6:15 am.

Good luck to the cross country team as they will be competing in the Notre Dame Invitational on Saturday.  CC Bus departs at 7:00 am.

The volleyball team plays Puxico on Monday night in their annual HITS FOR HOPE game.  Come out and support the Bearcats and a great cause!

Membership drive for the SkillsUSA/Industrial Arts Club will begin Monday, September 24th and end October 26th. The club dues are $15. Checks can be made out to Dexter Industrial Arts Club. Also, the Club Fundraiser will begin Oct. 17 thru Oct. 31st.

FBLA Members:  Thank you for meeting the Six Flags deadline.  We will have 48 people on the trip. Check the FBLA bulletin board for the Six Flags Roster as well as the updated Membership roster.  Every  member who paid dues will have their name on the back of the FBLA t-shirt. Sign up to order one here

Dexter School Board Meeting Minutes - Monday, September 17, 2018 Meeting

The Dexter School Board met at their monthly meeting on September 17, 2017 at 6 p.m.  The meeting was moved to Monday due to the Stoddard County Fair Parade held on Tuesday.

Below are the minutes submitted by Superintendent C.A. Counts.

Regular Board Meeting Notes - September 17, 2018 - 6:00 PM

1,2,3.   Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge  The Board President announced the meeting is to begin, ascertains the attendance status of all board members with everyone being present.  He then leads in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance. 

4.  Consent Agenda:   The Consent Agenda was approved. 

5.  Public Comments:  There were no public comments made.    

6.  Old Business:  

    None

7.  New Business: 

    A.  The board approved the 2017-18 Audit that was presented by Patrick Kintner CPA.

    B.  The board approved the 2017-18 ASBR.

    C. The board approved the 2018-19 budget amendments.

    D.  The board discussed and tabled the selection of the Energy Service Company that will be leading the building and renovations of the districts long range plan.

    E.  The board approved the August MCE district policies updates.

    F.  The board approved the district 2018-19 assessment plan.

8.  Discussion Items:

      A.  Mr. Counts discussed cell service and WiFi on campus.

     B.  The nurse's report was given to the board.

     C.  The building principals gave their reports to the board.  

     D.  The October board meeting was set for October 16, 2018 at 6:00.         

In Closed Session:

1.  The board employed the following substitutes teachers for 2018-19:  None

2.  The board approved the following resignation letter effective September 4, 2018: Kayla O’Neal
