Silly Stringin' the Principal at Southwest Elementary

Dexter, Missouri - As an incentive to increase sales during the recent PTO Trash Bag sales campaign, Southwest Principal Bethany Deal promised to allow the top sales boys and girls to “Silly String the Principal.”

Friday, October 10th,  was the big day, when top fundraisers were named and the Silly String cans came out in numbers. From left to right with Deal are Tanner Massey, Logan Moreland, Klare Essner, Sage Wallingford, Brooklyn Goodman, Gibson Booker (in back) and Hunter Farmer. Not present for the photo were Walker Jarrell and Cooper Worley.

The students received other awards for their efforts, with the top award for the greatest number of sales schoolwide going to Gib Booker, who sold 132 rolls of trash bags. He earned two theater tickets to the Werenburg Theater in Cape Girardeau.

The second highest seller was Klare Essner, who sold 117 rolls.

Third highest was Tanner Massey, selling 100 rolls.

Fourth highest was Brooklyn Goodman who sold 92 rolls.

Fifth highest was Hunter Farmer who sold 65 rolls, and the sixth highest salesperson was Sage Wallingford, selling 62 rolls.

Overall, the students raised more money than has been raised in the three-year history of the sale. Proceeds will be equally distributed between Southwest, Central, and Middle School and will go toward student incentives and programs for the student body through PTO endeavors. An estimated $13,600 was raised.
