Southwest Students Earn Positive Office Referral Awards

Dexter, Missouri - Southwest Elementary honors Lorelei Guethle, Lydia Christian, Mauriaona Menley, Bailey Mc Coy, Lucy Pyle, Victoria Hernandez, and Madison Wilson with the Positive Office Referral certificate.

This award is presented to students who consistently show the 3R's RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN at Southwest Elementary in Dexter.

Each student received a certificate and a FREE Taco from Taco Bell.

Addie Kruse Named 2017 Winter Homecoming Queen

Dexter, Missouri - Addie Kruse was named the 2017 Winter Homecoming Queen at the Bearcat Event Center on Friday, January 6, 2017.  Second Alternate was Rhylan Hillis and First Alternate was Morgan Aldridge.

Addie is the 16-year old daughter of Scott and Kerri Kruse.  She is a junior at Dexter High School.  She is a member of the basketball cheer team, volleyball team, and track team.  She is also active in Honors Choir, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sr. Beta, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, and Tobacco Free Missouri Youth.

Her future plans are to enjoy the rest of her junior and senior years in high school and is currently undecided where she would like to attend college.

She was nominated by the basketball team. Her escort tonight was Clay Mullins.

He is the 17-year old junior and son of Wes and Charlene Mullins. Clay is a member of the basketball team, baseball team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sr. Beta, Student Council, and Future Business Leaders of America.

Rhylan is the 17-year old junior and and daughter of Darren and Tory Hillis.

She is a member of the basketball cheer team, volleyball, track, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, Sr. Beta, and Honors Choir.  Her future plans are to cheer at the University of Missouri and major in journalism, then hopefully work for ESPN.

She was nominated by the wrestling team. Her escort tonight was her brother, Haden Hillis.

Haden is the 15-year old son of Darren Tory Hillis.  He is a member of the football team, basketball team, and baseball team.  He is also active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, and Honors Choir.

Morgan is the 16-year-old junior and daughter of Jimmy and April Aldridge.

She is a member of the basketball cheer team, tennis, Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, and Sr. Beta Club.  Her future plans are to attend college and study Sports Medicine.

Miss Aldridge was nominated by the Boys Basketball Team.  Her escort tonight was Jason Jarrell.

Jason is the 18-year old senior and son of Denny and Paula Jarrell.  He is a member of the baseball team, football team, and basketball team.  He is also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, Sr. Beta, and Student Council.

Dexter, Missouri - Crowning tonight's 2017 Winter Homecoming Queen was Miss DHS, Ashlynn Wyman.

Ashlynn is the 18-year old daughter of Steve and Jana Wyman.  She is a senior at Dexter High School.

She is the Student Body President, Sr. Beta President, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes captain, secretary of the Future Farmers of America, a member of the Future Teachers of America, member of Teens Against Smoking Coalition, Honors Choir, Model United Nations, Student Council, Top 10%, and National Honor Society.

She is also a member of the varsity volleyball team, basketball cheer squad where she has been selected for the SCAA All-Tournament Cheer Team the past three years.

Her future plans are to attend Missouri State University and major in musical theater and business administration.

Her escort tonight was Gabe Jackson.

Gabe is the son of Dale and Kim Jackson. He is a junior at Dexter High School.

He is a member of Honors Choir, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, varsity football team, and varsity basketball team.

Winter Homecoming Queen Candidate Emily Page

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter High School held their annual Winter Homecoming Coronation on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Bearcat Event Center.  Ten young ladies were represented for five winter sports.  Two from Cheer, two from Wrestling, two from Dance, two from girls basketball, and two from boys basketball.  High school students voted for their Homecoming Queen and her court.

Emily Page is the final candidate of the night.

She is the 17-year old senior and daughter of Michael and Louise Page.

Emily is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sr. Beta Club, National Honor Society, track & field team, football cheer team, and the basketball cheer team.

Her future plans are to attend Arkansas State University and major in Political Science.

She was nominated by the basketball cheer squad.

Her escort tonight was Braxton Foster.

Braxton is the 16-year old son of Steve and Heather Foster.  He is a sophomore at Dexter High School.

He is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, varsity football team, and basketball team.

Winter Homecoming Queen Candidate Kaylea Murdock

Her future plans are to go to Sikeston Technical School and then transfer to Southeast Health College to become a nurse.  She would like to work at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Kaylea was nominated by the Kickin' Cats dance team.

Her escort tonight was Corbin Strong.

Corbin is the 16-year old sophomore and son of Mark and Kristi Whitehead and Lee Strong.

He is a member of Future Farmers of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sr. Beta, the wrestling team and Sons of the American Legion.
