Missouri Veterans Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony Set

The Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield will host. public Memorial Day Ceremony at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 27th. The public is encouraged to attend.
The ceremony will include remarks from Missouri Veterans Commission deputy director and retired Colonel Ryan Richmond. There will also be the firing of the volley by the Stoddard County Veterans Honor Guard.
Originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day was established as a day for Americans to honor those killed during the Civil War. After World War I Memorial Day was expanded to honor those who have died in all American wars. Memorial Day was declared a national holiday in 1971 and is observed on the last Monday in May.

New Police Officers Hired at Bloomfield

Bloomfield Chief of Police, James D. Dew in the center welcomes Benny Cohenlll on the right and Dylan James Clinton on the left as full time officers.
Benny and Dylan recently graduated from Semo University Law Enforcement Academy receiving the designation of Class A P.O.S.T. Certified Police Officer.
This class was 19 weeks with over 700 hours of training.
On behalf of our city council and myself as Mayor I am very proud to welcome them to our PD.

American Legion Charity Stop in Dexter

The American Legion Veterans will be a king for donations to help on Veteran and Community projects.
This will be on May 18, 2024 at the corner for Old Business 60 and Walnut next to Wings Etc.

2024 Stoddard County Farm Animal Art Contest Winners

Stoddard County Farm Animal Art Contest winners will be invited to the Area 4H Clubs Youth reception and ice cream social on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Music for the Mind is taking place on Friday, August 16th and Saturday, August 17th at The Camp at Lake Wappapello! Proceeds from this festival help Music for the Mind continue to help break the stigma surrounding mental health, help those that have been through trauma, or battle with mental health.
